  1. Looks like initial reports were wrong. Instead of Jerry Gray, Memphis has hired LSU assistant Larry Porter as its new head coach.
  2. If he somehow does get to 2000 yards, i dont know how you don't give it to him. For one, Peyton Manning. In all honesty, we're probably 0-11 right now without CJ. Yeah but the Colts could be 0-11 without Peyton Manning. Well probably not, but pretty close. Yeah, Peyton is incredibly important to the Colts, as is CJ to the Titans. CJ should probably be the frontrunner right now, I think, but that doesn't mean I don't think anyone else should win it. There is definitely a valid argument to be made for Peyton.
  3. If he somehow does get to 2000 yards, i dont know how you don't give it to him. For one, Peyton Manning. In all honesty, we're probably 0-11 right now without CJ. LenDale White is a decent RB and I'm pretty sure you would have beaten Buffalo with the cheerleaders playing. I really don't think we beat the Bills without CJ. LenDale is a nice complementary back, but he's been at 4 yards per carry one time in his career - his rookie season when he had 61 carries. In a full time starting role he could probably do better, but probably not significantly. He's just not a feature back and this team needs a feature back. Also, without CJs explosiveness, there are still very, very few weapons on this team. Britt is still developing and Young can't do it all himself. We were up on Buffalo by 1 touchdown late in the fourth quarter before a pair of pick sixes (when the Bills were forced to do nothing but throw) put us well ahead. CJ had 232 total yards of offense in that game. LenDale doesn't do that and without CJ, we probably lose that game.

  5. What a great way to win a game. A 99-yard drive that ended on a touchdown on 4th and goal from the 10. Great throws by Vince - especially on the game-winning pass - and a great catch by Britt in the end zone. One cool part of that drive was that the QB of the future (Vince) threw mainly to young receivers - Kenny Britt, Lavell Hawkins and Jared Cook. 5-6 now, third place in the division. We're one game behind the Jags for second and, I'd say, pretty clearly back in the playoff race. Again, though, we still have to win out. And that's going to be tough. We struggled to slow down Leinart and the Cardinals, and Peyton and the Colts are better. On an interesting non-Titan note, the Jags losing today clinched the AFC South for Indy. With 6 weeks left in the season.
  6. With 150 yards today so far, he's now on pace for over 2000 for the season. Nice. Hopefully he can help us win this one now.
  7. We just don't have a great offense and Leinart has been extremely accurate all day.
  8. I doubt they'd want a rematch. That may be why they're trying to make the trade - so that they can take Wisconsin and match them up with Ole Miss instead of Tennessee again.
  9. I don't know how well Ole Miss travels. Traditionally the SEC East team goes to the Outback, so that's why I'm assuming it for UT. There's one report speculating that a swap might be possible. Interesting. I hadn't heard about that. Where does it appear Northwestern will go?
  10. That was the first kickoff returned for a TD against the Titans since Dec. 26, 1999.
  11. Does Ole Miss travel well enough to warrant a deal between the Cotton Bowl and the Outback to swap SEC representatives? I don't know how well Ole Miss travels. Traditionally the SEC East team goes to the Outback, so that's why I'm assuming it for UT.
  12. And then Larod Stephens-Howling returns the ensuing kickoff for a TD. 13-10 Titans now.
  13. Chris Johnson is awesome. 85 yard TD run to make it 13-3 Titans.
  14. The only possible thing I saw was Reeves' left arm might have been holding down Garcon's right arm. That said, that was irrelevant because the ball was uncatchable.
  15. Ryan jammed a toe in his foot, that's why he was pulled. His return is doubtful they say.
  16. She's also been on an episode of Monk. Nothing else major that I know of, though.
  17. Fantastic win by Tennessee today. 30-24 in overtime over Kentucky to extend the winning streak to 25 games. Probably the best thing about the game is that senior workhorse running back Montario Hardesty got the winning score on a 20-yard run on third down in overtime. Hardesty finished with 36 carries for 179 yards and three touchdowns. All career highs. I didn't get to watch the game, but Kentucky's a solid team. Randall Cobb is a really nice player and Morgan Newton has some potential. They very well could snap the streak next season. They certainly almost did this year. That said, a 7-5 season and a likely Outback Bowl appearance is quite nice for Lane's first year. Not sure who we'll play (either Wisconsin or Northwestern, I guess?), but a win would obviously be very nice.
  18. why the quotation marks? I still think Suh ought to win it. He won't, but he should.
  19. Wasn't that Keanu Reaves teams nickname in The Replacements? They were the Sentinels. So yeah, I guess it was. That was an awesome movie, by the way.
  20. It appears Memphis is prepared to hire Redskins secondary coach Jerry Gray its new head coach. Interesting hire, I still think Tommy Bowden would have been a terrific hire.
  21. Chris Johnson is on pace for almost 2000 yards. He'll have to have another huge game or two (close to 200 yards huge) to reach it, but it's certainly possible. He promised all his offensive linemen new cars if he reaches 2,000. That Dec. 13 game in St. Louis looks like a good candidate. Yeah, and the Seattle game is a good bet for lots of yardage. The Titans may also run the ball a ton against Indy, thus giving him plenty of opportunity to pile up the yards.
  22. Broncos/Giants should be a really good game, though.
  23. This will be an interesting game. If Warner plays, it'll be tough for the Titans to win. Rod Hood really needs to start so he can match up with Anquan Boldin (he's younger and more athletic than Harper) and Finnegan will need to jam Fitz at the line. If Warner is hurt and Leinart plays, though, the Cardinals will almost certainly have to run the ball more. And I like the Titans' chances against the Wells/Hightower duo. Offensively, same formula as the past four games. Vince doesn't turn the ball over and makes a few plays and Chris Johnson plays like Chris Johnson, we'll score some points. With the Cards making the trip east, I like the Titans to pick up their fifth win Sunday. It won't be an easy one, though.
  24. He was trying to drag him back to, perhaps, affect the spot of the ball. I love Cortland, but can see how non-Titan fans wouldn't like him. The whistle had already blown there was really no reason for him doing what he was doing. But yea, I just think hes an ass, but like you said, if he was on my time Id probably like him. There wasn't any reason to do it, but it's not that irregular a thing. He's not a particularly athletically gifted corner, so he has to rely on being physical at the line and being very aggressive and "tough".
