  1. Bah, I hate when division rivals do the smart thing. Would've been unbelievably dumb to take anyone else. Clowney is really, really special.
  2. hah. indeed. 4 TD and 324 yards against y'all. That was unreal. Haha, we had no answer for him. I remember some newspaper in Memphis had the headline "I think I just saw McCluster run past my house" Nice. I'll never forget that game simply because of McCluster. Monte is probably still having nightmares of it.
  3. The good thing is, in this draft, even if you reach, you're getting a really good player.
  4. NFL Network is considerably better than ESPN in pretty much every way. I'm in a hotel on a business trip. Stuck with Boomer, a criminal, Chucky, and Count Chocula. Ouch. I get Eisen, Faulk, Mooch (really like him), Irvin (better options than him) and Mayock (one of my favorites).

  7. I would like that very much. Keep him out of the AFC - and especially the AFC South. I haven't had a chance to ask you yet...are you excited about having Dex on your team now? Very excited, actually. Jason Michael is going to have to be creative with him, but I think McCluster will end up being the best acquisition the Titans make this offseason. Plus, he now has a chance to redeem himself for shredding Tennessee's D a few years back.

  9. The chatter on sports radio today was that at some banquet last night Fisher said Bradford was the guy with him sitting right there. It would be a huge shock if they took Manziel at any spot. Yeah, I would be stunned if they select him. I was thinking more in terms of the potential for a trade there.
  10. Jeff Fisher just said he expects both the Texans and Rams to take the full time on the clock for their picks. Doesn't mean much about the Texans, but that's interesting that St. Louis expects to use the full 10 minutes. May not mean anything at all, but it might.
  11. Anybody ever heard of Eric Galko of Optimum Scouting? He's apparently claiming he's hearing the Falcons may acquire Eric Berry tonight for a 2nd round pick. No clue about his reliability, but that seems like an absolute steal for Atlanta.
  12. Like I said, I expect that's the case, but the chatter is still there.
  13. Jimmy Haslam has a "love affair" with Manziel, but it's unknown if Farmer and Pettine want him. Vikings have also been heavily rumored to have at least some interest as well. The Rams have also been rumored a lot, but I expect that's just smoke. I don't think Fisher would want him. And in the wild speculation department, Peter King has said the Cowboys have interest in Manziel last week and Mike Mayock mocked Manziel to Dallas in his mock last night. There's definitely a lot of interest there. If a QB drops like a rock, it's much more likely to be Bridgewater, which would be dumb. Probably. I doubt a trade happens, though.
  14. This might be a bit early, but I really like everything I've read about this kid. The Colts lost Antoine Bethea and haven't really replaced him to this point and they need help in the secondary. So, they select a kid who has had injury problems and can be a bit headstrong/arrogant, but has the ability to play corner or safety and has a ton of talent and upside. A very close runner-up for this pick was Ego Ferguson of LSU, but the need in the secondary was greater. Colts select Antone Exum, CB/S, Virginia Tech.
  15. It depends on who you get. If you don't draft Matt Ryan, the guy you do draft better produce at a really high level. If Bridgewater were guaranteed to have a 63.7% completion, 2:1 TD:INT and 11 Y/C career at just 28 years old, I'd be pretty unhappy if the Titans passed on him for just about anybody but Clowney or (maybe) Robinson.
  16. I could easily be wrong, but I'm betting that's all smoke to try to get somebody like Cleveland (Haslam has a "love affair" with Johnny) to panic. I don't see Manziel as a Jeff Fisher type QB.
  17. Ah, I see. I agree with you there. I compare Ben Roethlisberger to Steve McNair all the time.
  18. I've heard that from a lot of sources (Mayock, Jeremiah, Walter and probably a couple others I'm forgetting now). I agree with you that teams that take a QB not named Bridgewater will regret it, but I'm not sure that Bridgewater will be as good as Rodgers.
  19. I'm going to keep going completely against the tide (and good sane, rational logic) and keep not taking a QB for Jacksonville. Instead, I'm going to replace the retired Brad Meester, get a starting center and address QB later. The Jaguars select Marcus Martin, C, USC.
  20. If we do get the TV deal and become a behemoth and starting acting like a major market team, I'll forgive them for a decade of horrific baseball, but I won't forget it.
  21. My question about all of this is how can we assume the interest will be there for a mega-TV deal in 2019? We're going to be at 5 straight losing seasons after this year with no reason to believe it'll get considerably better without a ton of luck (not going to spend any money, so all/a vast majority of the prospects and bargain shopping will have to pan out to be any better than .500ish). If we're in a position entering 2019 where we've been under .500 for, say, 7-8 out of 10 years, is the upside going to be there for these TV rights deals (and even our own network)? Kenney/Ricketts seem to be banking a lot on the tradition of the Cubs and it seems like there's a really high likelihood it backfires on them.
  22. Time has been up for a while for the Raiders, so I'll make the pick. In need of some youth in the secondary - Charles Woodson and Charles Rogers make up half the secondary - Oakland goes with a defensive back here. Raiders select Pierre Desir, CB, Lindenwood
  23. I added the third round order to the first post.
  24. OTs or DTs? I like Tiny Richardson here at OT and Dominique Easley at DT. Roberson's a good player too, though. I'm probably a Tiny apologist, though. Others don't seem to like him in the NFL as much as I do. OTs. I didn't see Richardson's name when I was browsing for tackles in the late 2nd-early 3rd area. My second choice was probably another WR, and if a good one's there in round 2 I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the Panthers draft 2 straight. Tiny is a polarizing figure, it seems. Mayock talked a month or two ago and said he wouldn't draft Tiny, but I've seen him as high as early 2nd. I considered him a 1st round tackle last year if he had left early, but think of him more as a 2nd-3rd rounder now due to injury concerns. Almost took him over Ja'Waun James for the Titans in the 2nd. I also wouldn't blame the Panthers for taking 2 straight WRs.
