Good player, can't block though. Good pass receiver too. I believe there are some health concerns. That's OK. The criticism I'm reading of him is about how Malzahn's system made him better than he actually is. That's probably true to an extent, but he's very good. I like him more than Hyde and Hill, but less than Sankey.

Extremely fast and shifty, very much a scat back and I never saw him run with much power. SEC defenses are generally pretty fast, though, and Mason made most of them look slow.

Yeah, that was a brutal pick too. At least they didn't trade up for him, though.

I agree wth that, I just don't agree with Cleveland that Manziel is better than (or as good as) Bridgewater or Carr.

Manziel is going to crash and burn. Probably could not have asked for a better destination for him to fail. But that is true about how he phrased that. Maybe "possible franchise QB" is better. Probably more accurate, at least. EDIT: It's basically opportunity cost. The Browns had an opportunity to have Bridgewater and, say, Bishop Sankey or Andre Williams. Instead, they have only Manziel, who isn't as good as Bridgewater and has a higher likelihood of not becoming a franchise QB. That's worse than simply taking a good player earlier than you should. The goal is to put together the best team possible and the Browns hindered themselves more toward achieving that goal than the Eagles did by taking a lesser player than other options but not giving up a very valuable pick to do so.

Because you passed on a better player and gave up a third round pick (which, in this draft, is almost equivalent to a 2nd round in most years) on top of that for no good reason. The pointless wastefulness and intentionally not taking a better player is the reason I judge it so harshly. If the picks happened in a vaccum, Manziel wouldn't be the worst pick. But because they gave up the potential to draft a very good player later for the right to draft an inferior player, the pick looks much worse.

Mack was good, Bridgewater to Vikings was pretty huge. Very true and that would probably be my 2nd honorable mention. The Raiders get the nod because they got an elite talent without giving up anything extra.

if manziel is a franchise QB they won't miss the 3rd round pick In this kind of a draft they might if Bridgewater becomes a better franchise QB and the Seahawks end up with a second really good player with that third round pick. I'd say the odds of Bridgewater becoming a franchise QB are higher than Manziel becoming one.

Best pick of the first round: Oakland - Khalil Mack. Mack is an immediate starter and likely a future elite LB and the Raiders got him without moving up. Honorable mention: Bills - Sammy Watkins Worst pick of the first round: Cleveland - Johnny Manziel. Good player, likely a franchise QB but the Browns could have had a better QB and kept their 3rd round pick in a very deep draft. Honorable mention: Eagles - Marcus Smith Most underrated pick of the first round: Ravens - CJ Mosley. Top 10 talent in one of the few thin positions in the draft. He has injury concerns but he cleared every team's medical checks. Honorable mention: Dolphins - Ja'Waun James

This is a really deep draft in most spots and the Bears have the second best player in that group (I really like Barr). I'd currently rank the drafts this way: 1. Vikings 2. Bears 3. Packers Vikings and Bears are closer to each than the Packers are.

Michael Irvin really loves him some Kelvin Benjamin. Not sure what that means, but at least it's not Miami bias talking.

Draft's not close to over yet. There are still 6 rounds left and I think the Bears had a better night than Green Bay. Fuller is a really good corner with elite potential.

Probably a good idea right at the tail end of the round. What did they give up for him? Swapped early picks (32nd and 40th) and gave Seattle a 4th. All for the best QB in the draft and maybe by a lot.

It's becoming more important all the time, especially with more and more athletic TEs showing up. sure, but a solid front 7 can make up for it, and the bears front 7 right now is better than it was last year. the bears not drafting a safety isnt a [expletive] disaster, no matter what some weird inbred fans believe. and again, it's still an offensive league. Oh, it's no disaster that the Bears went Fuller (who can play safety very well) over Haha. I'm not arguing that - Fuller's the better player. I just think with the way the league is going passing-wise and with TEs getting bigger, faster and more athletic every year, safety is gaining in importance.

Don't think Easley or Ward were reaches; Marcus Smith certainly was. I've not seen Ward rated higher than mid-2nd round. Mayock referred to him as a 2nd-3rd round guy. He's a good player, but could have possibly been had later. There's not much left at S, though, so he was justifiable. Same with Buchanon. Smith was easily the worst, though. I agree that Easley was not a reach talent-wise.

That was heavily rumored (especially for Bridgewater), but it still surprises me. I didn't think every QB-needy team would put that much stock into a bad pro day.

Ooooohhh, wow. Really intriguing pick by New England. Higher than I expected, but the talent is there for him to be a mid-to-high first rounder.
