  1. He's a fantastic value, though. If his knee holds up this was a great choice.
  2. I'm surprised to see two safeties off the board already. I thought teams would wait a little more for them.
  3. Colts could be on the edge of having a great o-line with Castonzo and Ijalana. Really good draft by them so far.
  4. Big, physical road grader without a ton of upside. Low ceiling, very low floor kind of guy who's pretty close to a sure thing to develop well but will probably never be a star. Michael Lombardi saying the Raiders are shopping next year's 1st rounder to try to get another 2nd rounder this year.
  5. They passed on him for at least one round. He may be there in round 3 though.
  6. Or not. Orlando Franklin. I'm not a big fan of taking Rahim Moore this early. None of the safeties are that good and there's really not that much different between Moore and the next group. I'd have waited.
  7. The Texans must be hoping to hide their secondary by sending their entire front seven at the QB. Really thought they'd go secondary in the first couple of rounds.
  8. Al Davis has to be salivating.
  9. With the Jarvis Jenkins pick, I wonder if Albert is definitely out in Washington now?
  10. I like Carter quite a bit. Probably a first round talent, but dropped due to injury. I had seen a lot of opinions that he'd be a late 2nd, early 3rd type guy but he's well worth this spot. Never considered him a 3-4 LB though.
  11. Very interesting pick. We needed LB depth (and maybe a starter if Tulloch goes away) but Ayers is a little surprising. I like the pick. Not a ton of speed, but a solid linebacker who likely has 1st round talent. We're really loading up on the Bruins - Verner, Ball, Ayers off the top of my head. Raisin may have to become a fan here pretty soon.
  12. The Cards may not be able to pass the ball next year, but they'll be able to run it all day long. Beanie, Stephens-Howling, Hightower and now Ryan Williams.
  13. Love me some Kaepernick. Wish the Titans had found a way to get him.
  14. Carolina dealt its first round pick in this draft to get NE's 2nd last year and take Armanti Edwards.
  15. I didn't watch ESPN's coverage this year, but that's the way they've always done it as well. There hasn't been suspense about a pick in the first round for years now. I prefer watching NFL Network coverage because of Mike Mayock. Deion's largely about the same as everybody ESPN has, but Mayock gives some great analysis.
  16. He was injured as a senior and that hurt his production and arm strength and that injury-plagued season, I think, is the reason people laugh at the pick so much. Most see him as he was as a senior and not as he was as a junior. That said, I still think the Titans, Vikings and Seahawks made the worst 1st round picks. All three were reaches with better players on the board.
  17. If you want to feel better about Ponder, go check out anything Wes Bunting has written about him at the National Football Post. Ponder is Bunting's favorite QB in this draft and while I'm not sure he'd support taking him at 12, he feels more strongly about Ponder's eventual success than any other QB in this draft. On Locker, I don't hate that we drafted him. I hate that we drafted him when there was a superior player in almost every way at the same position (Gabbert). Had Gabbert not been on the board I'd have been fine with the pick (though not particularly excited). Passing on Gabbert just to give him to the Jags seems very strange.
  18. I really have no idea what the Titans' offensive plans are. After drafting Locker, OC Chris Palmer started raving about Locker's ability to pass outside the pocket and how great the Wing-T offense is. I guess this pick looks better if we're going to run the Wing-T, but surely we're not doing that. As expected, pretty much every quote from Titans' front office guys focus almost solely on how good a work ethic and attitude he has. It's the anti-VY pick.
  19. i'm wondering why he fell though Outside of the Carpenter to Seattle oddity, I don't think Carimi really fell much. From everything I heard he was expected to go somewhere in the 20s.
  20. Really nice pick by the Packers. That o-line weakness could be going away soon.
  21. 2nd and 3rd tomorrow. Thanks.
  22. I can't believe Bowers is probably going to fall out of the first round. Teams must really be nervous about his knee.
  23. Is it 2nd and 3rd round tomorrow? Or just 2nd round?
  24. I realize the Bears desperately need o-linemen, but Austin wouldn't be a bad pick. He's fantastically talented if he feels like playing.
  25. Leshoure's a nice consolation if they go that way.
