  1. Lillibridge is garbage. Floyd is fluky garbage, and Poreda's a decent prospect. I mean, what's the equivalent trade for the Cubs? Aaron Miles, Sean Marshall, and Jay Jackson? Yes, Jay Jackson and Poreda are the same? Yes, Floyd and Marshall are the same? Yes, Miles and Lillibridge are the same? Are you serious or just trying to cute and witty to seem smarter than everyone? Poreda is clearly better than Jackson, but the Cubs don't have a pitching propsect on his level. Marshall is better than Floyd. Brent Lillibridge and Aaron Miles are both terrible baseball players, Miles just costs more. I can't believe you're honestly proposing Lillibridge as a serious part of a trade package. Marshall isn't better than Floyd despite the struggles this year of Floyd, Lillibridge isn't meant as a key piece rather than more of a roster fit. The trade obviously revolves around Poreda and whomever the 2nd starter is (whether it's Richard, etc.) the PTBNL are just that and not likely something of much value beyond the worst valued player among the likely list of players SD will send to the Sox.

  3. I don't them see the Cubs trading Vitters and/or Samardzija anytime soon, but the Cubs likely wouldn't hesitate to upgrade the team to improve a weakness.
  4. Which is why the pen and locking up this offense is key. Both Zambrano and Harden have shown enough to where if the Cubs face one of those 3 (they have the potential stuff to win against then), but it's more likely they'll win by hanging around and beating them in a battle of pens rather than counting on the SP going 8/9 giving up 2 or less regardless of who it is. The Cubs have as much rotation depth as anyone 1-4 but they can't compete in terms of matching up once the starter is done given how bad this pen is.
  5. Right now, the Cubs have bigger problems than SP. I'd rather see them use resources towards the pen and someone like Wigginton than sell the farm for Peavy.
  6. Poreda, Lillibridge, and Floyd for Peavy and call it a trade.
  7. I can't imagine that Poreda would not be included in the trade.
  8. I'm ready for Florida A&M to complain about how there is an unfair advantage for the northern schools in regards to Hockey on how all the good hockey players almost always go up north. Geography makes it difficult but there isn't anything that could be done, nor should there be.
  9. For those able to watch or record their DVR from their computer, Strasburg will be pitching on TV in about 50 minutes on the CBS college network (Channel 613 for DirecTV).
  10. Nice. My fav. part is later in the year when the higher collegiate draft choices start out at or end up at Peoria (usually late July thru Aug). Beyond Redmond, I don't know of anyone who is hurt that would poss. be at the KC/Peoria series in about 2 weeks.
  11. If they ever did trade for Derosa, it would equate to the seldom seen "prospects for prospect(s)" trade. I've always wanted to see one of those trades. (Not including Rule 5 or players out of options as reasons for trades)
  12. Hopefully I'll get to see Carpenter once Peoria heads to KC in the 1st week of June.
  13. For Burke, it's going to have to be in CF. I doubt he'd hit enough to play a corner spot.
  14. It's the most talented Cubs team I've seen at this level since the '03 Lugnuts (Hill, Dopirak, Pie, Marshall, Sisco, Ryu, etc.)
  15. Thanks for the personal insight/observations Ping. Question. I'm interested to see Ridling and Harrison so far down on your list. Does this have to do with ceiling, or are there other specific factors. I only ask because they have both performed well this year - especially in relation to a few players you have above them. I'm not being critical of your list, but since I haven't seen either of them in person, I was hoping you could expound a little on those two. Thanks in advance. That's it. They're just not as toolsy and don't project as high as the others on the list. I can see Vitters, Lake, Flaherty, and poss. Burke becoming ML regulars (while Burke has the higher ceiling, Flaherty is more likely at this point).
  16. I wanted to see Carpenter more than anyone (besides Vitters) but of the starters, it was Archer and Bristow.
  17. Just got home from Beloit as I had to leave after 5. The HR from Vitters was on a 3-0 85 MPH FB, the wind was blowing to CF at about 10-15, but only Harrison's HR was wind-aided. The HR from Vitters was just a majestic HR. Burke and Flaherty both hit more line drive HRs. Bristow was 90-94 (he touched 94 once) and sat around 92 for most of the night, more of a max-effort pitcher who needs to improve on secondary stuff although, his slider did get some swings and misses, it wasn't really or placed well most of the time. If I was to rank the top 10 from the Peoria roster from what I've seen over the two games: 1)Vitters 2)Lake (despite the long swing) 3)Burke 4)Flaherty 5)Archer 6)Rundle 7)Bristow 8)Perez 9)Cabrera 10)Ridling/Harrison
  18. I really didn't see Vitters chase bad pitches or expand his zone, he had some swings and misses but those were pitches right down the middle and he worked he count well.
  19. It's good when people become bitter towards UK again, it's a step in the right direction compared to being overlooked.
  20. Good to see you guys are on the Thomas bandwagon.
  21. I'll be at the Beloit game tonight to see Bristow.
  22. C! A! T! S! CATS! CATS! CATS! Best class since the Fab 5. \:D/

    Week 7

Good job Perkins, I'm rooting for you DMR. Of course, I have to beat Raw.
  24. Hopefully Vitters will keep it going tomorrow.
