  1. I wouldn't... He'd have to be traded for, he's gaining too much weight, wasn't productive last year, and he's a rectum. A player that demands a trade after a playoff series to the press as well as well taking a cheap shot at one of his teammates (although, he was right about Morris), would have to be very good for me to consider acq'g him. He isn't worth it.
  2. All this debate about Pierre and no one has even come close to making a case why the Cubs should go after Pierre if Michaels is equally available in the land of assumption.
  3. Sox fans are going to be insufferable for decades. The one's that are insufferable aren't worth my time and are destined for sports talk radio banter. Simply b/c I try to be better than them.
  4. Guess I was wrong, right switching by Garner.
  5. 2 innings vs. Lidge vs. Cotts/Hernandez.
  6. J, you're right. DS-Jose moves to 2B.
  7. C'mon Mr. Miles, let's hear your take on what has occured?
  8. That's why I'm not a manager. I still don't understand the move or why he feels the need to pull Biggio every 7th inning.
  9. What the hell is Garner thinking?
  10. Those 3 runs were charged to Wheeler.
  11. Fox typically does a poor job with the WS, don't know how many times they've missed the 1st pitch of an inning. Also, you don't have to show me Hickey talking from the dugout even on the split screen, I know it's him and I know what he looks like.
  12. The ball would have hit off his left elbow to take that type of angle and he reaction would not be a pleasent surprise after taking one off the elbow.
  13. The ball would've lost more velocity if it had a softer object like his bicep and probably hit Ausmus in the head.
  14. That hit the bat, there's no question it hit the bat. How would the ball go down that far of an angle if it didn't hit a rounded object parallel to the ground. McCarver was finally right on something.
  15. There was something there that tipped off Garner and Ausmus though, it clearly hit the bat.
  16. Jason Michaels has a career .380 OBP. :) Yes, I want Michaels.
  17. Don't know, but I know Michaels would have a higher OBP, better defensively, and cheaper.
  18. Pierre and Patterson. Corey made 2.8m and Pierre made 3.7m last season. It's not a huge difference. I think a beter question would be which player Hendry would value more; Michaels or Pierre. Pierre will likely get around 4.5, I see CP staying at 2.8. I think Hendry would value Pierre more than Michaels and he'd be dead wrong if he did.
  19. I don't think he's the type of player that would pique his interest, he is a tough nosed player similar to Freel, but he doesn't have the speed that Hendry likes in his CF'ers.
  20. http://www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/sports/12928234.htm Scroll down to Centerfield. Salary difference between which two players?
  21. It depends on what you are giving up, though. If Florida said they'd take Corey for Pierre, straight up, would you do the deal, knowing that Corey has little chance of success in Chicago and Pierre keeps Pie in the minors away from Dusty? You know I think Pierre's overrated, but will we do better for Corey? Michaels is a better option, but could he be easily had? What would his player cost be? Lofton is the cheaper option, and probably thr best if platooned with Hairston, but the Cubs didn't seem thrilled with Jerry this season. Too many variables. I'd trade CP for Pierre, I'd be disappointed with the upgrade, though b/c it isn't a significant upgrade and part of that salary difference copuld've gone towards Giles. I consider Pierre to be of a last resort, similar to Burnitz, where they'd have to settle for below avg. production. Philly is in an intersting situation, they have 2 1B, all-star quality players in LF and RF, '05 AAA MVP in CF (Victorino), Michaels, and Lofton wanting to return. If they could bring back Lofton and platoon him with Victorino and get some players in return for Michaels, they should do it. Philly seems to undervalue him. I think Hill and a prospect could get Michaels and he is a possibility of being had.
  22. The Cubs will go into the offseason with the expectations of Lee doing well, Wood healthy, Dempster repeating his performance, etc. I don't agree with that, I'd take the opposite approach.
  23. I don't want them trading for Pierre either, not when there are better options out there.
