I'm typically negative towards the Cards drafting, but I don't see them spending 2.5 mil on a sandwich pick nor do I see them drafting a pitcher that high espec. at that price. Yeah I am not that confident they would pick them either, but I am just hoping that since they are local guys maybe it would put some pressure on them to dish out a little cash. I would expect a slotted college arm.

I called dropping to the sanwhich round earlier today. I could see drafting Cashner (cheapish sign) signalling that they will spend at another part of the draft. He'll prob. sign for slot, which isn't cheap.

Consistent 96-98mph fastball is rated as a 60? What does it take to get to 70 or 80? Movement. Maybe command of it too, I can't remember if that's considered. who needs movement at 98? Farnsworth

Their scouting director is one the best (2nd to Logan White, IMO) I'm scared to ask where Wilken is placed :) I'm actually a fan of Wilken's. In his Blue Jays days right? TB as well as the Cubs.
