  1. [expletive] [expletive] I recant all dead cats posts
  2. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07/07/ff843efeaa1ca5df09ef325139a71a8f.jpg
  3. EZ fix for a rainout. triple header tomorrow since im gonna be at wrigley for the first time this season
  4. Man oh man if Soler can become the monster that his raw ability suggests he could be this team could be terrifying for opposing pitchers in 1-2 years. 1. In a perfect world we somehow pick up dee gordon, trade Castro for pitching and use russell at ss gordon at 2nd) 2. 3B Bryant 3. 1B Rizzo 4. RF Soler 5. C Schwarber 6. SS Russell 7. OF (Happ?) 8. P 9. OF (FA? Trade result?) Makes me smile imagining the slugging that would be done by those guys 2-5.
  5. I'm trying to figure out whether it's a good or a bad thing that there is absolutely no mention of a Cub on either of these lists. http://grantland.com/the-triangle/2015-mlb-second-half-projection-predictions-for-hitters/ Is it exciting or boring that nobody on our team is having an outlier performance through the first half?
  6. I'm rather new here, but I don't really get the desire for an official set of rules. Why set up a tangible list of things you need to do when it seems to me like the whole point of a forum is to have a place for thoughts to be posted? If someone posts dumb [expletive], tell them so. Likewise, if someone posts amazing content, tell them so. The internet is an interesting place because there's all the most useful information in the world at your fingertips, as well as the most useless crap: To me, this forum is a place where people that share an interest in the Chicago Cubs can post their thoughts on the cubs, or on whatever else they want. I just don't see a need for some set of rules to dictate how and what one should post.
  7. Against a lefty, given his obscene numbers against lefties this year, why not bump rizzo back to cleanup and run a lineup that looks something like: 1. Fowler 2. Castro 3. Bryant 4. Rizzo 5. Coghlan 6. Montero 7. Denorfia 8. P 9. Russell
  8. I mean, thanks for the link but I could've looked up the stats. I was asking more along the lines of what do we think he is doing differently this year that is resulting in these bad outings. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
  9. So we're paying him oodles of money and catering to his whims (ross), but in return we're getting subpar starts? I admittedly didn't know too terribly much about jon lester before this year, but his stuff doesn't seem too dominating, and he's got other issues to boot (throwing over, getting stolen on). What was he doing so differently the previous 5 years that merited the contract he got?
  10. For all the things castro does wrong, he's been a freaking animal when it comes to clutch hitting this season
  11. Did I see that correctly? Medina in his time at iowa has a whip over 2.00?
  12. I don't know why, but to me the way Castro stands in his batting stance and the way he runs it looks like he's always wearing flip flops
  13. Why would this be posted after he basically hit a 2 run homer? I was just asking in a thread I knew would be active.
  14. Has there ever been any documented reasoning to Lester requiring Ross as his personal catcher? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
  15. Well, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and sometimes it rains.
  16. your geographic location doesn't make you any less wrong about hamels. welcome though. Depends on what he means by "that good." http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/two-pitchers-overrated-by-both-era-and-fip/ he's outperformed his fip 6 of the lat 8 years. probably just one of those guys. What I meant by "not that good" was I personally wouldn't want to have him as my #1 or #2 starter, which is what Amaro and the Phillies seem to be pricing him as. Guess I should've clarified my opinion the first time around.
  17. I heard a discussion over the week-end that Ruben Amaro is telling teams that you must take Ryan Howard along with Hamels. He needs to get out from under the contracts. Theo won't do that and I don't know many teams that will. And why would you deal Castro now when he's struggling at the plate? I do think they'll trade him for a #2-3 SP but it's still early and other teams aren't ready to do a white flag trade. Cubs fan from eastern Pennsylvania here. I don't want the cubs to engage in any kind of deals with the Phillies. They've got nothing we really want, and lots of trash (washed up players and huge contracts) that they want to peddle onto others. Just stay away theo, cole hamels isn't that good anyways.
