So I was talking to a friend about arrieta and the baseless talk about him using PED's last night and this is what I sent. "He changed mechanics and stuff too when he came over to the cubs. The orioles tried making him get rid of the twist in his windup and it fucked with him. Everyone knew he had a good arm, he was a fairly highly regarded prospect. also, the orioles don't like the pitchers in their system throwing cutters, but the cubs guys love the pitch. It really sets up his repertoire well. So he came to the cubs organization, was allowed to do his natural delivery, and got to throw cutters. He's been really good almost the whole time he's been here, and nigh untouchable for a while now. Its not like his velocity went up, so no suggestion of steroid use there. he has a crazy training regiment (look it up, he's nuts), which explains his endurance and going late into games. I dunno, it just seems like this is media outlets trying to muck up things for.. some reason? Attention I suppose, but that's a pretty shitty way to drub up ratings. And the casual fan/espn watcher wouldn't know any of the stuff they didn't hear stephen a Smith and skip bayless speculate. They hear "it might be steroids" and none of the mechanical changes." That was the night before Theo's comments on the issue. Just made me feel on the ball to see my comments line up as closely as they do with his.
