  1. Let's not pretend that the Bears would've been able to score again even if that BS hold were not called. But F the refs.
  2. I have Rodgers and Finley on my fantasy team. And I feel dirty.
  3. I'm waiting for the media to criticize the lack of running plays. But if you get 1 yard per carry, and you're always down, it's tough to run the ball.
  4. And you really see how important our return game has been in prior years. With this kind of field position, its absolutely hopeless.
  5. How bad is our offense? Horrible.
  6. Good lord Roy Williams sucks. At least Sanzenbacher can actually catch.
  7. Yeah. Probably McCluster. If you can play him at WR in your league, even better. I had Colston all last year, and he put up a lot of 8 point games and not really many huge games. Consistent and unspectacular, and he wasn't even injured.
  8. No brainer. As long as he's healthy, Stafford. He's a way better fantasy QB than Ryan.
  9. Fine. I'm certainly not excited about LeHair. But why absolutely trash him because he's old. He's put up very respectable numbers, albeit in a very hitter friendly minor league, for 3 years. It's not like he had 1 good year. We've certainly seen a lot of Cubs AAAA players who tore up Iowa and never panned out, but stranger things have happened. Plenty of guys are able to play as well or even better in the majors than in the minors. And this guy had played in all of 45 games in the majors before this year. If he were batting .290 in the minors at age 18 and had some power, people would be drooling, talking about him a future all-star, and saying they wouldn't trade him for Pujols. Let's calm down. Who cares if this guy actually gets some playing time? It's not like the team is going anywhere. And I don't see too many people actually excited about him anyways.
  10. OK. I defy ANYONE to name me ONE player who has EVER all the sudden learned how to play in his late 20's. Jose Bautista? OK. Nevermind then.
  11. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/page/1stand10-11week2/biggest-nfl-games-week-2-john-clayton Melton didn't play DT until this year, while Okoye and Paea weren't on the Bears last year. Try again John Clayton. Just because you know what they're going to do doesn't mean you can stop it. I like John Clayton, but that's a pretty ridiculous thing to say.
  12. I just don't think Manning produces great numbers even if he does come back. 2-3 months is a long time. I think more likely, the Colts are out of it and they just shut him down to get a good draft pick. He has very little value except to the guy who's still pissed off he drafted him high in the first place. He would keep him just because the only thing that would piss him off even more is to see him come back after he trades him and light it up, even if he knows it isn't happening.
  13. Absolutely positively not. Don't ever think of benching a stud like Brees for a piece of crap like Smith because of a bad matchup. You might be right once in a while, but usually you'll be kicking yourself in the end.
  14. Although I'm starting Ingram this week, I'm a biased Bears fan and will say Steve Smith. See if the Newton/Smith connection can keep it up against the Pack.
  15. Geez. The rest of your team must suck. Or you have a small league. McFadden and McCoy. Ride the horses.
  16. I say Gore and Stevie. I'm not sold on Sproles being a consistent producer.
  17. My receivers are weak. Pick 1: Jabar Gaffney vs. Arizona Mike Thomas vs. Jets (Revis Island) Brandon Gibson vs. Giants
  18. Urlacher gets in. Provided he play at a similar level for a few more years. To me, a similar analogy is Derek Jeter. Urlacher doesn't have his rings, but he's the equally popular face of the franchise who's heard throughout his career how overrated he is. Especially from people who are from other parts of the country. But in the end, he keeps playing well and all the publicity only helps get him in to the Hall of Fame, just like Jeter.
  19. Not yet a believer in the Bears, but a victory this Sunday would be super sweet. I'm so sick of hearing about the Falcons in the media and how great they're going to be. Don't go out on a limb people. They were only the number 1 seed last year. Yeah, all NFC teams not called the Packers, Eagles, Falcons, and Saints should just give up. And oh yeah, let's not forget the darkhorse Detroit Lions. Do they still count as a darkhorse if everyone is picking them? Thankfully, the pundits are usually wrong with their preseason predictions. Oh how sweet it would be to destroy the Falcons.
  20. How about complaining to Sean Payton for calling that play? Ingram didn't have a prayer on that play. I would have called that play if I was Payton. If he calls a pass and it ends up like the 4th down earlier in the game, he is crucified for the play call. If you are an NFL team and you want to beat the douchebag champions, you have to be able to run it in from 1 yard out. I disagree. You have your best player try to make the play in that situation. We couldn't stop the pass at all in that one, so you take that element away? Whatever, I'm not complaining about it. Whatever the call, the Saints were absolutely dominated at the line. Everyone knew what the play was, and Ingram had no chance. No RB would've made it in. And not that it prevented him from scoring, but did anyone else think Ingram was facemasked badly on the play? It looked like it to me. What a call that would've been. edit: actually, looked at it in slo mo. Was the shoulder, not the facemask.
  21. 12 team, 0.5 PPR. QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, Flex, TE, K, D, DL, DB I hate my receivers which is why I put so many on the bench. QB: A Rodgers, M Cassell RB: McCoy, Bradshaw, M Ingram, Jerome Harrison WR: Britt, M Thomas, S Rice (me too, not really happy about it), Jacoby Ford, Brandon Gibson, Andre Robers TE: J Finley K: Kaeding D: Patrick Willis, Julius Peppers, Tyvon Branch
  22. I think the only question is the fanbase. The Cubs might decide that the hit to the fanbase from keeping Zambrano is worth more to them than the amount that Z can give you on the field. Otherwise there's no reason why they couldn't make up again. Wow. That's some opinion. I'll join in the throngs of people who disagree 100% with this. To quote Charlie Sheen, "winning". That's what its about. San Francisco obviously had no fans when Barry was carrying the team. Nobody cares too much about character in team sports. They will forgive anything if the bad characters are producing. Sammy was beloved when he was good. And he was hated when he sucked. To think that keeping Zambrano would lose fans is absolutely untrue. And to bring up the Pacers analogy is also wrong. The Pacers have sucked for a long time. Ron Artest had nothing to do with them losing fans. Sorry. So the implication is they care about character in individual sports? Would Tiger Woods have as many fans today if he started dominating again? Especially among women? Multiple people have given testimonies of people leaving because of character concerns some even while their team was still winning. To dismiss that would require calling all of them liars. Is there any proof that they are lying? I've said and will continue to say that winning is by far the biggest factor in attendance in pro sports. That doesn't mean there are not other factors that contribute. To say there's no point of no return (to extend it out to the absurd, would people really support a team full of murderers) is hard for me to swallow. Now, the argument that what Z did is minor enough that it will not break that point for more than a negligible amount of fans, that argument I can buy. First off, golf is an individual sport. A golfer being an a$$ is a little more difficult to overlook. Second, look at the ratings when Tiger Woods plays golf. Even when he's not winning. Multiple people leaving teams due to character issues? I've never met any person who's even claimed this. That's crazy. There are examples all over of athletes with "character" issues who are worshiped because they are good. Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Barry Bonds, ARod, Mike Vick. So a couple people claim they no longer like a team because of "character". If you say so. I've never seen it. But 99.9% don't. As sports fans, we are loyal to teams. And as for the individual player who pisses us off, usually it's because they perform badly. Look at all the rants on this message board about Soriano, or any of the many players who suck. He dogs it every single day. Doesn't even look like he's trying. Nobody stops rooting for the team because of him or anyone else. And Soriano would be the biggest hero in the city if he hit a World Series winning home run. If people want to view their athletes as role models and moral beings, then that's their prerogative. But most people don't.
