  1. Hmmmm... What I came up with asap CF Fowler RF Soler 1B Rizzo 2B Castro C Montero SS Baez 3B LaStella LF Denorfia CF Jackson LF Schwarber 2B Coghlan 3B Bryant 1B Vogelbach SS Russell RF Szczur C Ross
  2. "They're out there playing some baseball" Maybe that was our problem all those other failyears? They weren't playing baseball out there while everyone else was?
  3. Seconded. Thanks, Raisin. I love following along with our minor league clubs, and I love all the info I get on this forum. So thanks to everyone that chimes in here. But, mainly, thanks to Raisin. I seriously don't know what I'd do without this forum. Thank you.
  4. Soler coming back for the Cardinals series will be the first time we'll have the whole gang together, no? Bryant Schwarber Russell Baez Soler Edwards All on the same major league roster! This year has gone so much better than I ever could've imagined.
  5. This is awesome, thanks TT
  6. I know they have very good talent already at the major league level, but I keep hearing about their deep farm and how well set up for success they are. Jamison Tallion is a name that registers, but whats his timeline and projection at this point? What other guys are worth "worrying about" from our end? What would you say their core consists of and whats their window look like? For instance, say a cliffs notes example for the future of the Cubs might look like: CORE (Rizzo, Arrieta, Bryant, Schwarber, Russell, Soler, Lester, Baez/Castro) with a WINDOW of 2015 extending to 2021 and then top PROSPECTS to keep an eye on (Torres, McKinney, Contreras, Jiminez, Cease) What might the Pirates' look like? Who is the next guy(s) for them that will be approaching Free Agency and will they be able to extend him/them?
  7. Is Javy still a rookie? Is Jorge?
  8. Before Russell had the shortstop job, pretty much everyone knew he was the best shortstop on the team, and I think we can say the same about Javy and third base right now.
  9. This lineup is a Soler away from basically everyone's dreams the past year or so.
  10. The Cubs have more money than God, Santa and the Keebler Elves combined.
  11. Has Jiminez been at 3B before? I assumed he was RF/LF/1B/DH material?
  12. Pretty sure Jake Peavy didn't play for the Cubs, as much as we all thought he would 7 years ago.
  13. :-k This was an amazing read on what Jay's gone through. Not sure what your emoticon is implying. the fact that it was already posted and being discussed Dang it, I swear the "first unread post" feature HATES me.

  15. Depending on how the year finishes out, right now, I'm OK with keeping the lesser of Castro/Baez as the Zobrist super utility role. I think theres room, and I think the clubhouse can handle them all. Hypothetical: STARTERS 3B Bryant SS Russell 2B Baez/Castro BENCH SS/2B/3B/OF - Castro/Baez 3B/2B - LaStella Lots of depth and insurance in the shitty event KB or Russell get dinged up, but I realize it is probably unlikely.
  16. i was just looking at this earlier today. prior in 2003, in a much stronger offensive environment: had a better k/9 had a better bb/9 was .1 worse in hr/9 had a better fip than jake arrieta going into tonight's start. So you're saying he was on steroids
  17. I don't know if Ryne Sandberg has any social media accounts, but this should probably be sent to him on his birthday every year. This gave me the heartiest of chuckles.
