  1. Went out after seeing Texas up 7-4. I had bet Texas to win so was doubly invested and ughhhh, that sucks.
  2. why is strop looking bored instead of warming up
  3. Ricketts sighting. I guess Greyhound had a good deal?

  5. Yankees just got some bad news on Pineda and Nova, so I assume they're definitely shopping for a SP.
  6. It seems almost impossible for me to imagine us outbidding the Dodgers for Price. The Cubs likely wont have to. in 2016 the Dodgers will have the following Kershaw,Wood,Ryu,Anderson. They aren't going to grab both Price and Greinke just to shove a low 3ERA pitcher like Ryu out the door. What? Brett Anderson has pitched 117 innings this year, which happens to be the most he's pitched since 2009. The idea that his presence would preclude a Price signing is laughable.
  7. It seems almost impossible for me to imagine us outbidding the Dodgers for Price.
  8. I'd be fine with Leake. In addition being a solid back end piece, it wouldn't hurt to have a pitcher who can swing it a bit. Among NL teams, our pitchers have the 2nd worst OBP.
  9. Tampa has been pulling him with fairly low pitch counts though. Karns doesn't excite me because his best attribute is being cheap for a long time. Seems a better fit for a team like the Rays tbh.
  10. Anyone who thinks we can't beat [team] in the playoffs needs a better appreciation of probability and how much luck is involved in the postseason.
  11. yes even more reason to make me hope and dream they do something with starlin, but how do you bench your "franchise" shortstop / veteran? if they cant trade him im a fan of the "hey dude you just got hurt go hang with your kids for a while" 60 day dl Interesting. Because to me, I'd think it would be even more insulting to ask Castro to fake an injury and watch the rest of the season from home rather than telling him he no longer is starting every day but still will be counted on to help the team. But maybe that's just me. Maybe it's just me, but to me, in my opinion, this makes sense. http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m5dnegmI051qz81t0o1_500.png
  12. Mets have acquired Gomez, according to Joel Sherman.

  14. Rosenthal says we're talking about Tyson Ross. The Padres must be convinced Castro is fixed, obv
  15. The White Sox and the Phillies are the only teams with a lower wRC+ than us. We're tied with the Mets. Meanwhile we're 4th in the majors in FIP. The rational part of me thinks there's a good chance guys like Fowler, Castro and Soler play closer to their projections down the stretch. The fan part of me wants to do whatever possible to acquire bats before the deadline to displace these disappointments.
  16. [tweet] [/tweet] I hope we're not suddenly offering a better package after the no-hitter. Hamels is signed through 2019 if his options vests, one game should not radically change the projection of his performance over that time.
