  1. really thought 6/9 was going to be a nice day
  2. My favourite site for that sort of stuff is War on Ice. You can go to their Game Report like this one from Game 1 and adjust the score situation. That game was almost even, Tampa only had one more shot attempt in the close situation. But in Game 2 they had 9 more than Chicago. Game 3 the Hawks had 5 more shot attempts while the game was close.
  3. This is misleading. When judging possession stats, most people use a "close" score situation. That's when the game is within a goal through the first two periods or tied in the third. Adjusting for that criteria has Tampa with more Corsi events in two of the three games. It's not a surprise Chicago has more total shot attempts, they've been trailing for the majority of the series. Score effects are very real and pronounced.
  4. Ryan Kellogg grew up like, 15 minutes from me. Kinda wish my local guy wasn't the pick everyone hates, but still pretty cool.
  5. He was getting pounded and hasn't been able to keep the ball down all day. You have high standards if that was getting pounded.
  6. Man, Maddon is quick to the pen. I would've let Hendricks go one more.
  7. Nice work by the ump to get the call right initially as well.
  8. why couldn't it have waited until next week when baez is up
  9. I think he tweaked a knee. Lot of video evidence shown on the Canadian broadcast indicating he was struggling with it throughout the 3rd period. I do think there's a real possibility it sidelines him for multiple games or even the rest of the series. Having said that, I don't like Tampa should be too concerned. Their backup is widely considered the best goalie prospect in the league, it's not like last year when Bishop's injury destroyed their chances.
  10. Cubs had a 83.7% win expectancy when Rondon was pulled.
  11. I don't like how this will make our closer a big story. Giving up one walk on a 3-2 count and pulled? I know he hasn't looked great lately, still don't like it.
  12. That did not seem like a double off the bat. Sigh.
