    Cannot be done by conventional weapons. St Louis is gonna need some silver bullets or holy water bombs or something. They've already sacrificed a virgin and 3 Million Dollars in spending that the city of St. Louis cannot afford. I'm not sure much more they can handle.

    Meh, I still like Spiegel and Goff. Mully and Hanley are like the Scully and Hitchcock of the Score...and B&B's problems have been more than covered. Spiegel and Goff are a good middle ground...I don't always agree with their thoughts, but I find them entertaining enough. They're the only show I listen to on that channel anymore. Maybe I don't listen to enough of Goff and Spiegel, but man they are just unbearable. Goff's pseudo GROWN ASS MAN tough guy routine is so weak and he comes off as a tool. Spiegel isn't much better with his annoying laugh and trying to constantly goad Goff. Lets put it this way, I listen to Kap ahead of these bozos.

    Spiegel and Golf used to be ok. They've now turned into insufferable douches on the radio who are condescending, not funny, and generally ignorant. Apparently I'm not alone!

    I can't tell if I'd be going to a baseball game or seeing my client to help him off death row.

    I'm saying that his skill set in two areas are elite that utilized property could be an incredible asset for a contending team and a more valuable piece than some of the replacement level options we have right now... And if he sucks again this season, they could choose to not go to arbitration with him. I think it'd be a low risk, decent potential return on investment given that he probably wouldn't cost much. Then again, what the hell do the Reds have to play for this year?

    Is there any potential interest in Billy Hamilton? Not so much to fill an everyday spot, obviously, but as a defensive replacement/weapon pinch runner late in games ala Jarrod Dyson in Kansas City. Center Field is a question mark after this season, and if he could maintain an above .320 OBP, he could be a very valuable piece. Additionally, I can't imagine the asking price would be that high for him and his unique skill set would be an upgrade above Szczur in the short and long term.

    I just bought a slew of Addison Russell Shirsey's for 7 bucks apiece. At least another 6 years before its time to replace!

    I see your point about it being solely beneficial for Heyward, but the way the 2018 FA class stacks up, he may opt out and (if there's money available) sign someone else. That class is stacked. But yeah, i'm not sure if we'll have money if we lock up Arrieta and when our studs hit arbitration.

    I'm not sure why there's people resisting dealing Soler...especially if we get a strong guy to replace him. Obviously, I'd prefer Heyward, but I definitely like Gordon a lot too. Soler has real trade value with so many visible flaws but tantalizing potential that a rebuilding team can afford to wait on. We're ready to win now. We will have plenty of power in our lineup that we can afford to lose Soler to fill a need for this team. I have a lot of reservations about the health of our starting pitchers that getting another high upside young cost controlled starter is needed for this team.

    At this point, what does Maddon complaining about the umpiring do? It makes him sound like a surly old sour grapes manager. Does it change anything? No. I really hope he's above that after getting a butt whooping. We don't need excuses.
