  1. Can we love our bullpen again? Btw, game ball to Travis Wood tonight.
  2. This is a weird thing to say after he's had a pretty decent game today. which of his strikeouts with a man on third and less than two outs was your favorite? It'd be one thing if he's been decent all year, but he flat out sucks. He's zapped any trade value he's had. He's not an albatross contract because he doesn't make enough, but he's not some strapping young piece that you can use to get anything great from another team.
  3. This is a weird thing to say after he's had a pretty decent game today. By what measure has he been decent tonight?
  4. Honest question here... can Baez be any worse than Castro at this point? So frustrating. Zero faith in him.
  5. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FOWLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. PART OF THE CARDINAL WAY SAYS DAVE O BRIEN. I can't believe I'm getting so riled up about this game, but man, its infuriating.
  7. God, and the announcers just sucking off the Cardinals all night is just the icing on the cake.
  8. At what point do we stop pretending Castro will ever be any good again? Fowler and Montero have really been awful for seemingly awhile now too. WTF happened?
  9. Hey guys, here comes a double steal, a seeing eye grounder and a 4-0 lead.
  10. This [expletive] Lester [expletive] is pissing me the [expletive] off.
  11. I wonder if our opinion of Saad is somewhat clouded based on the fact that he's played with two hall of fame players on the same line. Not saying he isn't a really good player, because I think he is, but if he was seriously looking for 6.5 million at the last call before he hits RFA, what else is Bowman supposed to do? He acquired two players who definitely fill a need in hard to fill spots. I'd love to see a couple more defensemen acquired, but listening to some "woe is us" calls on ESPN Radio in Chicago, there's some perspective that needs to come into play here. I think picking up a couple of serviceable defensemen will keep us as a strong contender again next year. I still doubt Sharp or Bickell is here come opening night anyways.
  12. There's also legitimate concerns about Jimmy Butler signing a long term deal here. Cousins is on a deal that is (relatively) team friendly through the 17/18 season and plays at a premium position. He could be a monster in the right situation. I feel like we've seen the ceiling with this team with Butler as the second best player. They have to take a gamble. And yes, it'd be ideal if we could include a superfluous big (Gasol or preferably, but less likely Noah considering the redundancy with Willey Cauley-Stein who I think is basically the same player) to get back a two guard. Is Ben McLemore any good anymore?
  13. Is there anyway to get in on the crazy DeMarcus Cousins Sweepstakes? Would anyone be willing to offer up Jimmy Butler in a deal for him? I'd say yes.
  14. Whenever you can beat two of the best pitchers in the game with the [expletive] lineup we've trudged out there for the last two days, something's going right. Please get healthy soon, Dexter and Soler.
  15. Years, not series. My bad.
  16. The playoffs are all that matters. And it's not like he was bad in the regular season either. 2.27 GAA and 92.4% save percentage (6th in the NHL). And he has 2 Stanley Cups. It takes a special goalie to win the Stanley Cup and Crawford was arguably the MVP on both teams in the postseason. I guarantee you the Hawks don't win the Cup if they stuck with Darling. Niemi won a cup. Is he an awesome goalie? Those Cup Series games with Philly were extremely high scoring. Niemi had a save % of .910. Below average. It was foreseeable that he'd not be worth a large contract going forward from there. Converseley, Crow's save % in the last three playoff series are .932, 913, and .924. That .924 does include getting shellacked. He was lights out the rest of the playoffs. So again, as Kyle has pointed out, he's not being paid all that much relative to other goalies and he's really really good in the postseason when it matters the most.
  17. Is it too late for David Schoenfield to regale us with 10 reasons to love this year's Cardinals team? http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/57900/ten-reasons-to-love-this-years-cardinals
  18. there was also the stretch in the 2013 playoffs where the blackhawks were a complete mess and he stole multiple games. i understand what jersey and tim are trying to say, but i think they are severely underestimating his impact on the last 2 cup runs. he hasn't just made the saves he's supposed to make. he has legitimately taken over games, and could easily be a 2 time conn smythe winner. an injured bishop was more impactful than crawford this series Yeah, he got hurt, got outplayed by Crow, and ran into his own defenseman costing a huge swing goal in Game 5 at home.
  19. that was as much of a team shutout as you could get. also, as has been repeated a million times but dunces like you can't figure out. It's not hating Crawford it's hating his contract. The skaters won the cup again and they need cap space for more skaters if they want to win another. So what is the going rate for a solid/above average goalie these days? Hey, remember when we signed Marty Turco after Niemi left because this team could win with any piece of [expletive] goalie? How'd that work? We have a great player in net at a reasonable rate. If that means we have to continue to develop the bottom 6 players on this roster consistently, then so be it. You're the dunce. You still have refused to give any credit for Crawford playing nearly six games in this series without being up/down by more than 1 goal. It was high pressure the entire series. He held strong. Just like he did against Anaheim. Just like he did against Minnesota. Yes, he struggled against Nashville. What the hell is wrong with you? Some people will just never be satisfied and can't enjoy watching a dynasty team for the past six seasons and there's little reason to believe they don't have the ability to win championships for the duration of Toews and Kane's contracts.
  20. Yes. We could probably get a lot for Hjarlmarsson too. Yes, but losing Hammer would hurt the defense a LOT. Convince me that Crawford is better than Raanta and Darling straight up. Now convince me that he's better than those guys plus the return we could get for him and what we could spend his salary on. He's gave up 3 goals in four wins in the Stanley Cup Finals against the league's top scoring team. If you aren't convinced/satisfied, you never will be.
  21. You and jersey can have Marty Turco. The rest of us will take Crawford. Thanks.
  22. I think he still carries enough name value to net an intriguing prospect. He plays as the fourth forward on the power play at the point and does so pretty well. There's value to be had with him. Contract isn't outrageous.
  23. Blackhawks have 200K more twitter followers than the Bears. Bulls have over 2 million. Clearly an indication of popularity in Chicago.
  24. Know what's crazy and awe-inspiring? In a game filled with roster turnover, there's 7 guys who have been here for all 3 championships: Kane Toews Sharp Hossa Keith Seabrook Hammer I feel like at least 5 of them will be back next year, but what a helluva ride. Duncan Keith is such a beast.
