  1. Haha, such a good bat flip. [expletive] Paul Molitor, man.
  2. That can't be right. 21 - 6 = 15 http://i.imgur.com/CkMbICD.gif what if replacement level is a 7.5 win pitcher :-k what kind of math is that common core jeez obama got to are robots to http://www.theoldrobots.com/images25/Math2.JPG
  3. Jake now up to 7.4 total fWAR. What an absolute monster. Cardinals, Pirates, whoever. Just bring them on man.
  4. God, Carpenter is such a whiney [expletive].
  5. I'm kind of impressed by how stylized he made this. With the all caps and the asterisks, this was a very artful meltdown. For a guy who eschewed such burdensome conventions as periods and commas and spelling, he really dressed in his Sunday best for this departure. Godspeed, little doodle.
  6. Don't worry guys, F Rod to the rescue.
  7. To make room, Rosscup optioned and Schlitter DFA'd.
  8. jesus [expletive] christ I got about halfway through that and just stopped reading.
  9. Just wanted to confirm that with numbers ERA: MB: 3.02 JA: 2.22 FIP: MB: 2.85 JA: 2.58 K/9: MB: 9.5 JA: 9.2 WHIP: MB: 1.04 JA: 0.98 WAR: MB: 3.1 JA: 5.5 Fairly similar but looks like Jake has been significantly more valuable FWIW, if you include the bat and go with fWAR, they're a lot closer. fWAR has MB and JA at 5.2 and 5.0, respectively.
  10. Saw this and thought the question it raised was apropos to Cubs fans. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/pick-your-four-years/ Basically the question comes down to, would you be more satisfied with the equivalent of the 2008 Cubs four years in a row (four great teams with playoff births each year but little playoff success) or the garbagey 2011 - 2013-esque Cubs teams followed by a World Series Championship team the fourth year? I think obviously people would like to see the WS trophy, but which of the two would you consider the more "successful" run?
