  1. That would be it. I think the second movie had a scene where some of the characters were driving behind and rear-ended a big rig with something like boards of wood or pipes sticking out the back, which shot through their windshield.
  2. Three things... -It depends on how fast he was going. Considering he was in the left hand lane of a major highway, he probably was doing at least the speed limit (which could be anything from 55 to 70) and apparently didn't slow down. Once you go above a certain speed and get into a collision, your odds dropoff significantly even if you're wearing a seatbelt and have airbags. -I don't know what kind of towtruck it was and what the position of all of its equipment was, but it could well have been a Final Destination type of thing. There's equipment back there which can jam through a windshield dependng on its position and whatnot. -If he wasn't wearing a seatbelt, then that would do it.
  3. I'm going to bite my tongue on this until more information comes out, but I'm worried about what this early information is pointing to. I have a feeling it'll be a long week in the media if my worst fears are true.
  4. Oh man. :( My condolences go out to his friends and family. This is terrible.
  5. Some noteworthy things from today's games: Chris Walker promoted to AAA Billy Petrick promoted to AA Michael Phelps has checked into High A

  7. Nuts! I was hoping he'd fall to the Bears and be the yearly "incredibly fast, but raw" pick in the same mold of Mark Bradley and Bernard Berrian.
  8. Okwo sounds like a potential Briggs replacement. Undersized (5'11 and change), but incredibly athletic with a high motor. He's pretty smart and should have an impact immediately as a gunner on special teams. However, he has durability concerns and needs to add some strength. He's a good pick. The Wolfe pick is a weird one. He'll be a terrific complement to Benson as a speed threat who can catch the ball effectively. However, I have to wonder whether he'd have been available later in the draft. Northern Illinois has turned out some decent RBs in its time and Angelo has a proven history, so I'll defer to Angie on it.
  9. Precisely. The Bears have done a very good job of drafting defensive players in recent years and it's inevitable that players will become injured, leave due to free agency, and/or drop off in terms of their effectiveness. Bazuin should provide some nice depth. Considering this team had trouble generating pass rush in the latter half of last season (in part due to the loss of Tommie Harris), a guy like Bazuin could really help on those days when Brown and Ogun aren't getting the job done.
  10. This is one of the Bears Annual "Why Did We Make That Pick?!" picks. See: Devin Hester, Lance Briggs, Mike Brown, etc. I like what I'm reading about him. He needs to put on some muscle and face better competition, but he can drop back in coverage and rush the passer pretty well. Sounds kinda like Alex Brown, imo.
  11. How in the hell are these people still employed? Do they not pay any attention to baseball whatsoever? Do they think Zambrano is Sidd Finch or something?
  12. I'm pissed that Grubbs and Staley didn't make it to the Bears. Blech.
  13. They let the air out of that balloon in a hurry.
  14. The trade announcement came right when Mayock said that he didn't think a trade was coming. That was awesome.
  15. Mooch just made a hilariously sexist comment that Mayock called him out on, haha.
  16. I didn't even think he was hit in the first place.
  17. How does he compare to Bill Rowell last year? I really liked Rowell, by the way.
  18. Wow. What was that all about? Thanks for defending the Cubs but...why? Link This was on the front page of the St. Louis P-D's sports section and at the heart of LaRussa getting PO'd.
  19. Oh. My. God. TLR's blowup needs to put on Youtube NOW. That was awesome!
  20. Long story short, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch published a mock on the Tinkers to Evers to Chance poem titled "No Tinkers, No Evers, No Chance". TLR was really angry about it for a few reasons (bad timing considering the Cards' record, bulletin board material, etc) and decided to take it out on the P-D's beat writer.
  21. Baron Davis' beard rates a solid 8 out of 10 on the unintentional comedy scale, doesn't it?
  22. If Kansas State can keep Bill Walker and Michael Beasley onboard after the recent coaching shenanigans, then they'll probably be the favorites in the Big 12.
