  1. I was happy with Pawelek and I knew there was no chance Bowden was going to make it to the Cubs' second rounder, despite my hopes. The guy I really wanted in the first round was C Brandon Snyder. Hasn't he been hurt his whole career? Pretty much, but hindsight is 20/20, you know?

  3. I am just glad Hendry and the boys picked up Pawelek in that first round. All things considered, it's so bizarre that Pawelek's done as badly as he has. He was highly-touted and signed at around slot, which is rare for a Boras client, let alone one in HS. It's not like Brownlie, where there was cause for concern due to injuries, since Pawelek had a clean bill of health. Buchholz dropped due to character concerns. I think he was involved in some laptop stealing scandal or something along those lines.
  4. 92 pitches through 7 and, uh, other stuff. /JINX!
  5. They'll be the grittiest team ever. Nobody will be able to tell any of the White Sox apart because of all the dirt on everyone's faces and jerseys.
  6. Batting 6th, has yet to have an AB. I'll post his Boise stats after the game.
  7. Both have been taken, so Roethlisberger it is.
  8. INI Sucks!
  9. lol @ Michigan
  10. It's a better idea than making Dempster a starter, that's for sure. Here's what it boils down to... 1) If you think that Marmol is a lock to be a better starter next season than anyone in the rotation right now, you move him to the rotation and trade someone off for a bat. 2) If you don't think Marmol is a lock to be a better starter next season than anyone in the rotation right now, do you think the return a trade involving one of the starters would net would offset or even tip the scales in favor of making that move? I think the Cubs would be best served letting things play out this offseason. They can keep their options open with Marmol as a guy who could end up in the rotation or bullpen, but nothing is set in stone. All of the guys in the rotation are under contract for next season, but if a good deal presents itself for one of those guys, Marmol could make a good replacement.

  12. Yeah, right. Raisin gave us boxes. This noob isn't living up to the hype. It's called a placeholder. I'll have these up after I shower and get ready for bed. :P

  17. As was Micah Owings. That one stung. I really liked Owings in the draft and was hoping the Cubs would spend the money. Oh well, at least they got Eric Patterson between the two. Most people seemed to think they wouldn't get both.
  18. aka "The Rod Beck Special" aka "The Joe Borowski Happy Fun Time Inning"
  19. I fail to see where anyone made that argument.
  20. Aaaaaaaaand there's a throw Kendall can make.
  21. You all realize that Lilly's slow delivery and not checking the runners led to that double steal more than Kendall's bad throw, right?
