  2. The other key distinction between Hernandez and Zambrano is that Hernandez is nowhere near the height and size of Z. I don't know what Zambrano was listed at when he was Hernandez's age, but Hernandez is listed at 6'2, 165 pounds. That's noticeably shorter and lighter than Z is now.
  3. Of course not. If Tim Lincecum threw a 22 K perfect game, it wouldn't have led off Sportscenter. I was not aware that Lincecum was now a Devil Ray. :?: I don't think he said he was... But he is on a team that is neither the Yankees nor the Red Sox. Yeah, that. My point was that another non-Yankee non-Red Sox rookie phenom could have had an even better performance than Buchholz's and it wouldn't have led off Sportscenter.
  4. It's kind of funny how Zambrano has gotten so many different reactions from NSBB this year. I feel like bumping the Zambrano/Barrett thread and all the Game Threads from June/July where Z dominated. Here's hoping he returns to form the next two months and makes people forget about these quotes.

  6. 8-) Considering the Cubs' interest in the Japanese market this past offseason, Fukudome might be a legitimate option. I can't imagine Hendry and Piniella being thrilled about the prospect of having a Soriano/Pie/Jones OF next season. The question is, where would Fukudome play?
  7. Vote of Confidence? Ruh roh. This should be fun to watch unravel.
  8. Nifty! Best of luck to the guy.
  9. He'll definitely get a starting rotation spot next season. I'm hoping Daytona. Also, I'm disappointed Rafael Dolis never returned. He looked so promising at the beginning of the season.
  10. ATTN: WGN Sports When making a comparison, the proper grammar is "more than" and not "more then" a given number.
  11. Happily, Corey's brother is here to save the day.
  12. He was waving Z home from the dugout.
  13. You overestimate this team's awesome offensive capabilities.
  14. Z...stop it with the barehanded crap.
  15. Cripes, just throw fastballs down the middle to Pierre. He can't hit for power worth a crap and everyone knows it.
