Phillies may be the third team. Marquis' name has been thrown around in order to get salary relief. DeRosa might be traded in the deal. Michael Wuertz is another name out there. Angels are still in the running for Peavy.
Since when have I claimed not to be on a power trip? Also, now that I've looked through the board, what's up with the receding hairline joke? Are you stalking me or something? That's kinda creepy, dude.
Is anyone else concerned that Bradley couldn't handle deal with the media for a major market team? This is the same media that goes overboard against Ramirez for supposedly not hustling enough. He handled himself well enough in Los Angeles. The Chicago media can be a bit rough at times, but I can't imagine it being a whole lot tougher than LA.
Angel Guzman could easily be the player whose injury history Jim Hendry was upfront about. Guzmans inury history shouldnt be a secret to anyone. His history, perhaps not. However, if it turns out that he has some sort of non-publicly disclosed medical condition involving his shoulder or arm that has been the root cause of his injuries, rather than a series of unfortunate events, the Padres would definitely want to know that information.
Two weeks ago, I really liked how we ended our season. Now, not so much. New Orleans is on a roll, Houston's frisky, and Green Bay is still lurking. If we win next week, I'll feel a whole lot better about our chances.
Officially tommorrow but they are all down there already so i'm sure they are talking today. I've been mulling over a list of GMs I'd want to be playing poker against, considering this is down in Vegas. Everyone is welcome to add to it as they see fit: Kevin Towers Brian Sabean Jim Hendry Andy MacPhail (only if Peter Angelos is standing over his shoulder) Jim Bowden Any others come to mind?
