That was an impressively pointless history lesson.

There were rumors he was supposed to come over to the U.S. this past offseason, but it's unclear when he'll be posted...if ever. There were some whispers that he wanted to stay in Japan for the long haul, but I don't know if those were ever confirmed. If he comes over, he'll get paid a ton of money. Also, I really dig his slider and fastball.

Also, I'm secretly excited for China as a baseball nation over the coming years. MLB has made some headway there and baseball has slowly been growing in popularity. There's a natural nearby rivalry with Korea, Japan, and Taiwan, to boot. I don't think China will become a baseball powerhouse any time soon, but getting a few Chinese names in MLB would be a boon to the sport. And wow, neither announcer wants to be there right now.

I'd like to thank Michigan for playing a sloppier game than the Badgers today. I don't think either of these teams would make it out of the first round of the tournament, but getting this win before the big Minnesota game is most welcome.
