And Bruce basically confirmed it in his blog. Given how little Vizcaino has pitched, I really don't see much of a point with this. Samardzija needs to work on his secondary stuff and I am still concerned about how effective he will be in the long haul in the bullpen at this point.

It looks like the Pirates finally have a rotation that's halfway decent. I don't think their current pitching success is sustainable, but even if they end up being slightly above average pitching-wise, they might be a frisky team this year. -

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Cubs pursue someone like Jamie Walker or Mike Gonzalez via trade to take over Cotts' spot if he continues to struggle. I get a feeling that Waddell and JR Mathes are not the answers in AAA and that the guys down in AA are not quite ready yet.
