I like Cales and all, but you're not going to see him called up this season. He has a nice future, but the guy is down in Daytona and has a long way to go before the Cubs bring him up. Frankly, I think the Cubs will end up trading for a LHP to replace Cotts. Waddell's done decently so far, but he has a history of control problems and has flyball tendencies. It's also a relative rarity to see a relief pitcher called up to the bigs from AA.
