  1. The better question is how long it would take you to get a HR if you had the derby at 2B rather than home plate.
  2. Among Aaron Miles' comparisons: Inanimate carbon rod The rod would have a higher OBP, and probably a higher AVG. ROD! ROD! ROD!
  3. They're not booing. They're saying "Boo-urns!" Boo...Radley?
  4. Nowhere, really. All the Reds have is a few botched bunt hits and a few bloops His stuff just seems so underwhelming tonight.
  5. Seriously, where the hell did Lilly's stuff go tonight?
  6. It'd be funny to see him stumble drunkenly out onto the field wearing his old Astros uniform and attempt to take the mound.
  7. If someone can show me a worse position player in MLB than Aaron Miles, I will show you a liar Willie Bloomquist What about Neifury?
  8. Gameday has Lilly's best FB velocity-wise at 86 that inning. That's a tad bit problematic.
  9. And Bruce basically confirmed it in his blog. Given how little Vizcaino has pitched, I really don't see much of a point with this. Samardzija needs to work on his secondary stuff and I am still concerned about how effective he will be in the long haul in the bullpen at this point.
  10. It looks like the Pirates finally have a rotation that's halfway decent. I don't think their current pitching success is sustainable, but even if they end up being slightly above average pitching-wise, they might be a frisky team this year.
  11. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Cubs pursue someone like Jamie Walker or Mike Gonzalez via trade to take over Cotts' spot if he continues to struggle. I get a feeling that Waddell and JR Mathes are not the answers in AAA and that the guys down in AA are not quite ready yet.
  12. That's Carpenter's final line. Wells' final line is 7 scoreless with 1 H, 2 BB, and 4 K.

  14. I like Cales and all, but you're not going to see him called up this season. He has a nice future, but the guy is down in Daytona and has a long way to go before the Cubs bring him up. Frankly, I think the Cubs will end up trading for a LHP to replace Cotts. Waddell's done decently so far, but he has a history of control problems and has flyball tendencies. It's also a relative rarity to see a relief pitcher called up to the bigs from AA.
  15. Looked like a feral cat. Why would the groundskeeper give a stray to some people in the stands? Probably gave it to security to have the cat taken care of.
  16. If you can get in the air to RF, this will be a fun day for you.
