  1. He's not the only one in this lineup who's worthless. No, but hes the only one who the entire offseason was worked around aquiring. Need we recall the offseason that was built around acquiring Soriano? Well done, Carlos.
  2. He's not the only one in this lineup who's worthless.
  3. Nah, the White Sox are going to let it stay there so that Soto can get a career-ending knee injury in the 5th on a foul ball behind him.
  4. It was a great throw back into the IF, despite being off-balance.
  5. And why should we care about these two? The hopes that a blackhole will randomly swallow up either game and everyone attending them?
  6. Normally I would agree with you, but in this yr's class there isn't a sure-fire, you know for a fact, 100% guarantee superstar. Not even Griffin---the best player in the draft---is a player you know will be a superstar. So getting players who can contribute in certain roles in a draft very light in big time college players is prolly the ceiling for this draft. Yep. Outside of Griffin-Rubio-Harden, this was a really questionable draft at best. Expecting your team to pick a future starter this year outside the Top 5, much less outside the lottery, was just unrealistic. Yeah, I'm sure some of these guys will pan out, but this draft was just filled with long term projects and future bench players. If the Bulls got two guys who can effectively contribute from the bench in this draft, I won't complain about it.
  7. Brewers pixie dust, amirite?

  9. So where does this put a guy like Harper? In your mind is he number 2 right now? Or does he have to sign? I think he has to sign. Otherwise, what's to stop me from considering Yu Darvish or Aroldis Chapman, neither of whom might ever pitch in the MLB? True, I just figure with the American kids its kind of different? Where does the kid the Cardinals are going to sign fit in? Same place as Michael Inoa when the Athletics signed him.
  10. So where does this put a guy like Harper? In your mind is he number 2 right now? Or does he have to sign? You could make a pretty good argument for that if he were drafted this season.
  11. It seems terribly premature to me. I guess it doesn't matter much though. Eh, people were putting Vitters in their Top 5 in 2007 after he was drafted, despite him having 58 plate appearances between Boise and Mesa that saw him put up a .118/.164/.118 line. Heck, BA had him as the Cubs' #1 prospect after that season.
  12. I'd probably put him in the Top 15 and perhaps in the back half of the Top 10 at the moment. Despite our misgivings about Jackson, he has a very well-established history since scouts have been following him closely at Cal. He has excellent physical tools and reportedly has the goods to stick in CF and be pretty good at it. If (and that's a big if) he can fix his contact issues, he'd be a fantastic prospect.

  14. He was at Peoria last year. Yep. I'd think about putting Guyer in the Top 10 if he keeps up this level of production at Daytona, but small sample sizes and all that.
  15. Vitters just hit #14 (or #15, depending on your perspective on the umps' screwup earlier in the season). Archer: 5 hitless/scoreless, 4/5 K/BB so far.
  16. Muschko got the start for Daytona. Castro so far: 2/2, BB, R, 4 RBI, 2B, 3B
  17. And this year, by all accounts.
  18. Lou Piniella told Milton Bradley to take his uniform off and go home. Bradley smashed the cooler and reacted angrily. They then had words in the clubhouse. Apparently throwing helmets and overreaction has been a common occurrence and Lou's been tired of it. No physical confrontation. He's putting Bradley's name in the lineup tomorrow.
  19. It'd be better for Bradley, but he still would come off really badly in this situation. If he left the game of his own accord...yikes. If he left on his own that would have to be the end of him as a Cub right? Wouldn't surprise me.
  20. It'd be better for Bradley, but he still would come off really badly in this situation. If he left the game of his own accord...yikes.
  21. This whole debacle really should be a fireable offense for Hendry. I don't think Hendry can be held accountable for Bradley's actions. He wanted to upgrade the offense and he did so by picking up a really good hitter...who just so happens to be nuts.
