  1. If we're throwing in Mizzou fans, let's just get all the Big 12 and Big Ten fans in here. This thread could turn into a burned-out wasteland.
  2. Even the announcers have told viewers to change the channel. Yikes.
  3. What in the hell was that?
  4. Nice D on that possession.
  5. There's the makeup call.
  6. Look, we only bitch when things go bad. Nobody has done anything monumentally stupid...........yet. I demand insight from sulley on this game.
  7. 4 minutes into the Illini game and no comments? For shame!
  8. Come on LIU, make this interesting...
  9. Gus Johnson + Xavier brings back happy memories from last year.
  10. On the replay, it looked like he was fouled on the rebound, but the block looked clean.
  11. HE WAS FOULED. ...maybe not.
  12. Smart foul.
  13. Does Arizona know how inbounding works? Holy hell.
  14. The sheer number of audible f-bombs in the Arizona/Memphis game is impressive.
  15. More posters on this board should snort an 8-ball before posting.
  16. Wisconsin basketball: For those of you who enjoy waiting in the dentist's office.
  17. Short Hops: baseball through the eyes of Luis Bunuel and Salvadore Dali.
  18. It'd be nice to see him start in Peoria, but my memory is that, as the Cubs trim their roster down, players tend to get bumped down as AAA and AA start filling out. If Simpson starts the season in Peoria, that'd be fantastic news.
  19. I think he has a better chance than most people might think, especially given last season's starter-reliever-starter flip-flop fiasco. He hit a wall at AAA and seems to have fallen off a number of people's radars. He has the stuff to be a quality relief pitcher, plus there doesn't seem to be any shortage of openings with this team's bullpen. My money is on him repeating AAA as a starter, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Cubs called him up to the pen at some point this season.
  20. I honestly wouldnt take anything from Spring Training appearences, especially ones in late feb/early march. I highly doubt he's approaching hitters anything like how he plans to in the regular season at this point. However, if Z had been getting shelled, there would be people flipping out on here. Take the positive news where you can, imo.
  21. Silva's a known headcase from his days in Seattle. Somehow, I'm unsurprised.
  22. A small correction, but Steve's son is Garrett Buechele. Actually, his full name is Steven Garrett Buechele. So, we're both right.
  23. It's worth noting that Vanderbilt is absolutely loaded this year, so you might want to make an effort to catch them. In addition to the guys davell has noted, here are some other guys to keep an eye on (italicized names eligible in 2012): Vanderbilt: P David Hill, P Taylor Hill, C Drew Fann, C/1B Curt Casali, IF Sam Lind, SS Anthony Gomez, OF Mike Yastrzemski (Carl's grandson), P Sam Selman Oklahoma: P Bobby Shore, P Burch Smith (a JUCO transfer I really liked last year), IF Evan Mistich, 3B Steve Buechele (son of the former Cub), C Tyler Ogle, 1B Cam Seitzer, OF Max White Texas State: P Carson Smith LSU: OF/P Jimmy Dykstra, P Mitchell Hopkins, IF Ralph Rhymes, 2B/3B Tyler Hanover, P Kevin Gausman Mississippi State: OF Carl Bishop, RHP Devin Jones SE Missouri State: SS Kenton Parmley Florida: P Anthony Panteliodis, P Justin Poovey, P Matt Campbell, P Thomas Toledo, C Ben McMahan, P Brian Johnson, P Hudson Randall, C Michael Zunino, SS/2B Nolan Fontana Ole Miss: P Davis Goforth, OF/1B Matt Smith, 1B Matt Snyder, 1B/C Miles Hamblin, C Taylor Hightower Most of the best guys were already listed by davell, but there's at least some intrigue with the guys I listed above. The ones I listed might not end up in the first round of the 2011 draft, but they could make some noise.
  24. Go figure.
  25. Honestly...considering the Wilpons had their hands in scams perpetrated by the likes of Bernie Madoff, Sam Israel, and Allen Stanford, the Department of Justice and the SEC should be taking a really hard look at the Wilpons' finances. This article goes into more detail on the financial side of things. Considering their involvement with some of the biggest financial schemes that have blown up over the past few years, there comes a point where you have to wonder if this is incompetence or something worse. The words "bag men" come to mind.
