  1. He'll never touch Geo though.
  2. And just because players have a good percentage on the handful of 3's they've attempted doesn't mean they can actually be relied on or expected to make them. Aj Hammons is 4 of 8 this year, I wouldn't call him someone who can shoot 3's well. Just got lucky in a small sample size.
  3. Uh, everyone on IU does shoot and can make a 3. Granted, Morgan and Bryant have only made 3 this year, but they are 3-6 and 3-9 respectively and you really can't complain about one made 3 each by those guys who were wide open, especially when IU got 1-6 from 3 guys that combine to hit 41% of their 190 3pt attempts in Zeisloft, Hartman, and Niego. If IU doesn't go far in the tournament it's because they won't be shooting in Assembly Hall where they pretty much always shoot like that. Point was all IU had in the second half was 3's from guys who don't normally shoot them. That's not a recipe for a win streak in the tournament. IU was outshot, out rebounded and out assisted at home. You're not going to win too many games that way. As for Purdue, per usual Painter couldn't make adjustments until it was too late. He continued to try and cram it down in a traditional set when it wasn't working. After it got out of hand he tried a small ball lineup that emphasized movement. The lane was no longer clogged and the offense sprung to life. Too little too late. Painter did it out of desperation. He should have done it when Hammons got his 3rd foul and IU started to pull away.
  4. 1. Why is Valentine still being employed? He's horrible and certainly seems to have come in with an agenda to take Hammons out. 2. IU likely won't go far in the tournament. Purdue has played horrible yet have stayed in the game and could very well be winning if IU didn't have players who don't normally shoot 3's, shooting and making them. 3. Purdue won't go far in the tournament. Effort isn't there consistently enough.
  5. Looks like his head has shrunk.
  6. When did they have promise? When they lost to NF to start the season? Oh never mind it must have been when they barely beat Yale to get to .500.
  7. It is on the other message boards but things are different here. This NSBB.
  8. Promise is a relative term. I thought we had a borderline shot at being a tournament team until Black/Thorne went down. I suppose it's all just sad commentary at this point. You weren't wrong. Ignore the troll. There certainly were pieces to have a good season. Abrams Nunn Hill Black Thorne Morgan Finke JCL that's a tournament level rotation. Not sure if Groce could have coached them there, but there was talent. Of course you think that. The consensus didn't think they were a top half of the Big Ten team nor a tourney team prior to the season. They are doing what most thought they would.
  9. Ugh. Maybe a lack of control (real or perceived) will negate the injury excuse and cost Groce his job at the end of the season. This season had some promise, but what a [expletive] train wreck. http://replygif.net/i/980.gif
  10. Rizzo Bryant Heyward Schwarber Zobrist Russell Soler Baez Montero
  11. Montero voted Most Important Player on the Cubs every year since Banks retired.
  12. Expiring contracts are bad right now. With the cap going up next year, those players will be really expensive to re-sign Certainly doesn't help but didn't stop a big deadline last year.
  13. Well he is known for long dongs if you catch my drift ...
  14. Boring deadline. Seems most teams didn't see the point of mortgaging the future for a star on an expiring deal considering they can't compete with Warriors or even Spurs.
  15. A highlight maybe but actual chunks of games? Games lose all thrill when you know the result. Besides baseball is 95% filler, 5% action. Works in the course of a real game but not a rewatch of a game.
  16. Right, but it was suppressed. I'm as big of a fan of the NFL as anyone and never heard of this specific case before. Judging from the court documents he's a scumbag. This should have come out years ago. He didn't deserve to go out with his clean image. New charges have been filed in a class action suit against UT with Peyton named in it.
  17. ... so they'd be on fire?
  18. He certainly has major flaws but at a school like Purdue you aren't going to find better. Yeah what a crummy program. He's not a crummy coach.
  19. He certainly has major flaws but at a school like Purdue you aren't going to find better.
  20. Purdue choked hard today.
  21. 30% he stays
  22. Law does have some really out there rankings on some players. Kevin Newman for instance is in his top 25 yet I haven't read a single other person who mentions him as top 100. He mentions he had Newman as the 2nd best prospect in the draft last year. His ranking comes off as stubbornness. He valued him high in the draft so he's going to put him high in his rankings even though he hit .257 with little power in his first year.
