  1. Hammons is the one I find most surprising. Yes hes a senior. However, he's an athletic 7-footer who is averaging 14-8 and 2.5 blocks per game. Seems to have matured and from the games I've seen he's the guy the game revolves around at both ends. When Purdue has the ball the defense rotates to try to deny the entry pass. When Purdue is on defense the other team tries to rotate the ball so that he is forced to step out on a pick and roll. Looks like a guy who can be a strong defensive center in a backup, 15-20 minute role right away with the potential to develop into starting quality. Definitely not a top 20 pick but seems to be worthy of the 25-30 pick range.
  2. Kwame isn't that ridiculous when you really look at it. Came in as a No.1 pick and thus was making a good amount right away. He then lasted 12 years. $5.3 million per year is about what Kwame was worth.
  3. IMB fights himself because he's both been banned and still here.
  4. Yes, because it's the Lions.
  5. Barry said that was the reason so yeah, a lot more than a little bit. He said he'd retire unless released or traded to contender and the Lions refused if memory serves, If Calvin was winning and playing in SBs I highly doubt he'd be retiring. Like half the 49ers retired one season removed from a conference title game and 2 years removed from a super bowl. Haha. Every player is an individual. 49ers players retiring has no correlation to Calvin's specific situation. Anyways, Willis retired to help people seek God, Anthony Davis retired because he couldn't stay healthy, Justin Smith nearly didn't retire but did after considering all the other retirements and 49ers likely fall, Borland never wanted to play in the first place.
  6. Sort of. He agreed to take time to reconsider which he very well could considering it's only been a month since his season ended. I read that as, he told Caldwell right after the season that he would take time to reconsider, and this is his decision after that period. Reread it. It's ESPN finding out a month later what he said to family, friends and Caldwell and writing up a story. He's still taking time and the article states the Lions haven't given up hope.
  7. What does Lions ineptitude have to do with them retiring? Maybe a little for Barry but he could have easily forced himself out of town and same with Calvin. lions have made the playoffs in 2 of the last 4 seasons and were a Rodgers Hail Mary from finishing the season winning 7 of their last 8. I highly doubt he's retiring because the team sucks. Barry said that was the reason so yeah, a lot more than a little bit. He said he'd retire unless released or traded to contender and the Lions refused if memory serves, If Calvin was winning and playing in SBs I highly doubt he'd be retiring.
  8. If Calvin Johnson does retire the Lions will have had both the most talented RB and most talented WR for the entirety of their careers but watch both retire early due to the Lions ineptitude. Obviously most talented can be argued but both Barry for RB and Calvin for WR are on the short list.
  9. Sort of. He agreed to take time to reconsider which he very well could considering it's only been a month since his season ended.
  10. I propose a fighting league with two divisions. Still Members vs Banned Members.
  11. Basically, choose a place just outside the real city, give them a proposal where the team pays more than half. Then over the years of actually building it add a few things to the cost allowing you to renegotiate and slowly have others pay more of the bill. This breaks it own pretty well. Originally 49ers were to pay 53%, city pays a small amount through taxes, then investors in a sense pick up the rest. End result, 49ers pay 20%, city pays a little and investors pick up the rest. Seriously, look at the numbers. 49ers got it approved with them spending $493 million and ended up working it down to $263 million while upping overall stadium cost from $931 million to $1.31 billion. Oh and the kicker? NFL is covering $200 million of the $263 million. End result, 49ers end up paying $63 million. If the 49ers approached the city, investors and the NFL with the end result as the original proposal they would have gotten shot down quick. http://m.sfgate.com/49ers/article/Levi-s-Stadium-The-1-3-billion-bet-5687409.php
  12. http://31.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m2rp7dKH391qhz348.gif Clearly you've never run 3 miles all out over varied terrain to the point of nearly puking. I have and let's be honest, most CC runners are tiny twigs. That's what allows them to do it. Less mass equals less energy.
  13. I really hope the Chargers stay in San Diego but I hope the city doesn't have to pick up the tab on the stadium. That crap is such a scam. Not sure why more teams haven't followed 49ers model.
  14. No team is elite this year.
  15. http://deadspin.com/report-high-school-baseball-coaches-racially-abused-pl-1756133416 This is a really dumb, click bait thread title.
  16. Wouldn't say that yet. Still not projected as a lottery pick.
  17. Rice hasn't played in two seasons and hasnot been good since 2012. Someone may kick the tires (I'd be surprised) but he'll never make another roster. Most people agree Hardy was a mistake in Dallas.
  18. Most interesting team this offseason could end up being the Bengals. Half the defense will be free agents. Other story lines of interest to me: 49ers QB situation and potential to draft one with one of their 12 picks, where RGIII ends up, what Cowboys do at QB after Jones' comments, what Denver does at QB, what Philly does with all the players Kelly brought in, if Carolina and Seattle can keep their All-Pro players from secondary ... I'm sure there are more
  19. 1. Chargers leave after attendance is horrendous next season. 2. Saw a joke headline of "Manziel immediately demands trade to Raiders after hearing Vegas rumors"
  20. Doesn't like half the team shoot 3 for 14?
  21. Good thing it was an Illinois game and thus doesn't effect anything. Imagine if the happened to MSU, Maryland or Iowa.
  22. Who here has been talking about him like that? Everyone who would be super excited if he resigns which a few at the beginning of the thread seemed to be.
  23. He'd be a real machine unlike Pujols. The answer is obviously catcher hence the "C"
  24. Seriously Get over him folks, he's not even that good. I narrate him as the guy who gave the Cubs the confidence to understand that they can, and should, do much better. He's was a 3 WAR player last year. That makes him pretty, pretty, pretty good. As good as many on here seem to believe? No. As worthless as you seem to believe? No. Fowler should not accept a non-starter role unless winning is more important than playing.
