  1. Wait, are you saying Wade > Irving? No way I'd say that right now. I'd take Love over Bosh too. Yeah Wade is no where near Irving. All his rest this season allowed him to put up good averages but that just disguised how far he has fallen. The playoffs exposed that. If he had to play back-to-backs and the such he'd be a 17-5-5 kind of guy who can't stay healthy and is likely to continue to decline quickly. Irving is head and shoulders above that.
  2. Still cleared space, maybe the idea is to let Parsons take Dallas' offer and go after some combo of Deng, Bledsoe, Thomas, Pau or Lance They could still sign one or two players with the space made for Bosh and then match Parsons. Beverely, Harden, Parsons, Terrence Jones and Howard plus Deng ($8-10 mil) and Bledsoe ($10-12 mil) would still be great. Or perhaps they go after Monroe. Who knows. They have two days before it is match Parsons and bring back a worse team that the year before.
  3. For the first time ever he will be the highest paid player on his team, at least I d that. I could see it being a two year deal unlike what Andy said. He may want a chance to redo with a different CBA. If he doesn't care then it will be longer. I wouldn't say either is more likely because who knows what he is thinking.
  4. So title favorites are? SA obviously, then who? Rockets with Bev, Harden, Parsons, Bosh and Howard or Cavs with Kyrie, ?, LeBron, Thompson, Varejao or OKC?
  5. Houston offered max but less than Heat who won't offer max?
  6. Don't see how Brazil wins today. I think Germany dominates the ball with Brazil getting very few chances on goal.
  7. This basically sums up Wade for me. He's gotten a pass because he has a big smile all the time but he's done some shaddy crap that any other star of his stature would have been loudly criticised for.
  8. There's this dude named Alcantara who is already playing 2B and doing pretty well. My opinion is Castro has peaked at SS defense and while decent Russell will likely continue to improve for a few years. That would make him clearly better and thus should be the SS.
  9. I know what I must do nm he tweets too much, i dont want to spend an hour going back that far What a great work ethic you have.
  10. Wow! You must be good friends with them to know exactly what they are thinking.
  11. I doubt it. Maybe Arrieta. Rizzo and Castro are young and have known the plan for awhile. Doesn't make sense to be annoyed when the Cubs had zero chance this season and Russell will likely be ready next season.
  12. Can't blame him for wanting out so he can contend in his prime.
  13. A's Alcantara was probably mentioned so much yesterday because the A's wanted to ship him instead of Russell but Theo held firm and the A's gave in.
  14. Interesting. I guess all these prospects boil down to is how well they adapt to different positions. If they can't, more trades will follow. If they can, likely more trades to follow anyways haha.
  15. We traded a guy who was going to get an offer way over actual value next season and a guy who is worth a lot of money after next season but seems disgruntled and likely starting decline by the time the team can win. For that we got a top 5 prospect plus others. That's great return which is not to say this is a bad trade for the A's. I think you keep Russell at SS and figure out somewhere else for Castro, if possible. Whomever handles 3B best out of Baez and Bryant stays there, assuming Baez starts working there. The other goes to the OF. So to me the setup for all these SS's should be: 2B Alcantara SS Russell 3B Bryant/Baez LF Bryant/Baez Doesn't really leave a spot for Castro. If the above four actually pan out I think you got to look at moving Castro. Considering his service time he's the one best to move. In a year or two, as these prospects come up, Theo could move Castro for a good pitcher. I also don't think Castro would be happy to move off SS and he isn't the best option there in my opinion. That means he gets moved to a team happy to keep at his desired position.
  16. Oh the places you'll go as a Cubs fan. We're not last! We're not last!
  17. How can you not call it as the ref? You got a defender who lunged late, making contact with a player who had gotten by him. Robben embellished obviously, but it was still a case of an offensive player getting by a defender in front of the goal only to be hit and taken out of the play in a manner that constitutes a foul. Ref has to call it.
  18. Tuned in at the 69 minute mark. Mexico seemed to play conservative which isn't their style at all. Once the equalizer was scored they self destructed and started lunging and stabbing. A defender tried to slide tackle in the box immediately before the penalty. He missed entirely which was lucky. Then his teammate made a horrible stab for the ball rather than boxing in the player to the goalline. Just desperate play for a team that was winning.
  19. None the three are great defensively and never will be. My guess is with no one really distancing themselves Castro will stay because that is his norm. They'll move Baez and Alcantara.
