  1. so, it doesnt seem like much of a decision so far. Most everybody says walker. Does anyone have any opposing views?
  2. I have to agree, 2.5 million for someone who can bat .300 and put up a high OBP is dirt cheap.
  3.     One of those cry faces was because I feel bad for Sammy. The other four are because I know the cavalry will soon be here to start the Roid talk.
  4. Can Cedeno play second? Has he ever done it in the minors? If not, is he even open to a position change? I think the best possible option here would be to resign Walker. But the one big question is would walker actually want to return. I havent read much of the news of late so i dont know.
  5. Finally, you guys can talk and I can stop typing. So first things first, what are our options for second? Resign Walker? Resign Hairston? Sign a FA? Discuss.
  6. Before we get underway, if I have missed any players that are under contract, or you have anything to add, please tell me or PM me. And one last word of advice: This little adventure is based on what WE want to happen. That is, We are now the GM/President of this team. We are not bounded to Hendry's tendencies, but we must keep in mind that all other facets must be realistic. Alright, lets get this started. I will keep track of our current topic in this post, and in the title. Our Current Topic: Center Field

  9. So I've had this idea in my head for a little while now. I think it would be fun to have a thread where we could put our brains together and have a comprehensive discussion about each of the decisions that await us in the off season. After which we would come to a conclusion either by unanimous decision or a majority rules vote, record our decision, and then move on to the next topic. By the time we have gone over every topic, not only will we have taken up most of the off season, we will have put together an entirely new team for 2006. Now, here are the rules: - Stay on topic. We will discuss one topic, and only one topic, at a time. If we are on the topic of what to do at short, please keep your responses related to that topic, and not what to do in left field. - We will discuss the dreaded topics of Dusty and Cpatt. Please, keep it civilized. As with any discussion on this board, it has a tendency to get heated. But people seem to have the strongest opinions on these two topics. So again, keep it clean. - Keep it factual. This kinda goes along with the Patterson discussion. No "He is an idiot" comments. No "he took da roids" comments. Please, keep it stat based, or at least factual. - We will assume that the team salary is $105 Mil. I've seen it written that the salary will be $100 Mil, and I've seen $110 Mil. $105 Mil is a happy medium I think. - Keep it Realistic. Arod for Jose Macias isn't going to happen, so please, keep it realistic. - And as always, keep in mind the NSBB golden rule, attack the argument, not the member.
  10. *runs for cover* I know. my arm will be tired by the end of the season.
  11. Someone put out a call for Fred!!!
  12. FInally, the misery is over. Anyways, If i see macias or neifi in one more game this year I will throw things hard. Because now that we dont have to try to win games we should put in the talented players......... :x
  13. You forgot the "LaTroy over Dempter for closer" debacle, the Macias-as-first-option-off-the-bench-all-year debacle, and the "use a couple of your relievers until they fall apart, one of them literally" debacle. Agreed. While there may have been other factors that went into this sad sad season, such as players under performing (Cpatt) and the Injury bug, we could have overcome if not for baker. If we had a halfway competent manager the Cpatt thing wouldn't even have been an issue. A real manager wouldn't have let him suck at the top as long as Dusty did. Same for the injury bug, a real manager wouldn't have stuck with Neifi when you had someone batting .374 in AAA. A real manager wouldn't have continued to put Macias in as the first choice off the bench. A real manager wouldn't have continued to put Holla out in left when he was batting around .200. I guarantee that if we had a halfway competent manager we would have at least 8-10 more wins. That would put us at least in the WC race. Probably on top.
  14. Z would hit a 783 foot homer. And I'm not joking.
  15. Cubs still playing? This team frustrates me too much. I havent watched a game in two weeks. Before that it had been a month. I dont care anymore. I'm just gonna sit back and wait for next year... :x
  16. Leave it in. I used to have a satinist friend, who also happened to be in ROTC , so she of course had to stand for the pledge. She just didnt repeat under god. Its not that complicated people. Its two words, if you dont beleive in it, dont repeat them when you say the pledge. Also, Why dont these people who want it taken out of the pledge take it off the money? Also, I think its pretty offensive to say the pledge is pointless or dumb. I really dont think pledging aleigance to your country is either of those things.
  17. LOL! I just spit some apple cider out of my mouth!
  18. He would hit the ball to friggin jupiter, and his bat would explode like the bird Randy Johnson hit.
  19. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v429/KingJME/burningman.gif I think that explains my answer.
  20. Hmm, I wonder who he might be playing against this week.  Actually, not me. But he is 5 points ahead of me in the standings...
  21. Definitely. I laughed so hard I have tears in my eyes. Also, I am going to make a Ribbie/Z signature before long. Serena is right, they are similar. And they would be a KICKBUTT tag team combo!
  22. I agree. I think even Dusty could win a WS with that lineup.
