Allrighty, lets keep the discussion on Right field. I'm gonna go set up a poll for salary again........ As of right now (untill we see officially if giles was signed by SD or not, then we will continue with what we are doing. If he is indeed signed, we will hvae to decide if we want to accept that and make a different right field selection, or just pretend it never happened in the world of this little thread.

After thinking about it, I realized that More people did vote for Four years. Because there was more than one option for four years. Adding the four year options together you have more than the "less years" option. I am going to set up a new poll. Three or four years. I do not believe its unfair. Those who beleive 3 years is the way to go, simply vote that way again.

If that's all we do, we won't have Giles in RF for 2006. That will need to be a player option to even come close to getting it done. How about 3/39 with a vesting option based on plate appearances? what does everyone else think bout that?

Or you can pick up his option and trade him to a place where he wants to go. Or you can decline the option, tell him up front he's going to be a backup if he signs with the team (but would be welcome in that role), then offer arbitration and get draft picks. I'm pretty sure he'd be a type A compared to other second basemen. OR you could pick up the option and get one of the better offensive Second basemen in all of baseball for 2.5 million dollars. -

What a fool. It's an absolute no-lose situation and he's passing it up. If he passes it up I may just explode. if not, i will at least lose all faith in him. -
