  1. In this division, we have a chance. But, then again, it's the cubs.
  2. Agreed. I don't see the White Sox wanting him either. They are definitley going into seller's mode, so why would they want to add salary? While, logically, you're both 100% right... Kenny Williams is not smart and they just lost 2 outfielders yesterday. That might just be enough to get it done.
  3. I'm guessing that we'd get a low-level prospect that doesn't have to be put on the 40-man. It's not going to be anything good. Basically just a salary dump. Yea, that's what I'm thinking at this point. I'd be perfectly content with a low-level prospect or two and maybe a little salary relief. That'd make me a happy camper.
  4. Yep. Exactly my point. I'm not a big fan of stark, But that's beside the point. The fact is people get things like this wrong and to say "lets just forget about it" because a writer on an inconsistent network says so is fool hearted. Especially when you have other sources saying that Griffey wants to be a cub. We have no way of knowing what hendry is actually going to do because he has always been very secretive about his trade-deadline activities.
  5. I really liked barrett. I met him at the Cubs Caravan a year or two ago, and he was a really nice guy. Some of the other people there (COUGH DUSTY BAKER COUGH) seemed to have a holier-than-thou attitude. Sorta like "Yeah, here's your damn autograph kid, now get the hell out." Barret (and murton and jerome williams, for that matter) were total opposites of that. Very nice guy. Good Luck in SD, Barrett.
  6. R.I.P. Shooter. I heard Pat and Ron announce this during the game today. 38 is way too young.
  7. BREWERS LOSE!
  8. Yay, 1 out.
  9. I agree. Those guys are always right. Remember when we got all worked up over Nomar and then Peter Gammons came on and said, right before the trade deadline, that there was absolutely no chance Nomar became a cub? ESPN was right then, and they are right now. Oh wait... I love the pervading attitude that all of the writers don't know crap, especially if they work for ESPN. I've always found Stark to be pretty good, I'm sure he has researched this and has better sources than a message board. I'm just reporting what the man said. I never claimed they were infallible, but maybe they just might know what they are talking about. And Gammons isn't a bad reporter either, but they dont always know everything. You said "let's forget about it" and I'm just saying that just because he says its not being talked about, that doesnt mean its not. Hendry is notorious for holding his cards pretty close.
  10. Update: Now they head to the 10th, 3-3.
  11. The Brewers were down 3-2 to the royals going into the 9th. But then Corey Hart HR'd with 1 out to tie the game. The royals are so worthless.

  13. Well they just lost 2 outfielders yesterday...now's the perfect time to trade him!
  14. Bucknor was the ump that caught dusty in his craptacular double switch abilities a few years back. Plus he's really inconsistant. Angel Hernandez just has no grasp of a strike zone, whatsoever. He was the culprit about 5-10 years ago, calling Ron Coomer out on a pitch that was literally at his eyeballs. And then a former bear (whose name always slips my mind) said, during the 7th inning stretch, "..and dont worry about that ump. I'll take care of him."...and then was kicked out of the game. lol.
  15. Hey aramis fan, Why'd you take Floyd's numbers out of your signature? Isn't he still hitting .320? :P
  16. I love the language differences between england and here in the states. I was so confused the first time an english person told me they "went out and got pissed" and acted like it was awesome. That doesn't sound pleasant at all  LOL..thats awsome..whats it mean? Getting pissed = Getting wasted/drunk.

  18. What?!?!? The majority of people that wanted and still want Zambrano traded was due to the fact of his contract status and the Cubs ownership status. There is no need for poeple to "eat crow". It seems that all you do around here is drop in radomly to threads to critque other posters. It is quite annoying. Calm yourself. He's referring to the people who were saying Z sucks. There was plenty of that around for a while.
  19. haha, no, but the actual story is just as funny. Z was yelling at him for making a bone headed play that scored 1 run, and Barrett pointed to the scoreboard and said "What about the other 4 runs. How many strikeouts do you have today?"
  20. Yep, then corey patterson walked up to him and refused to give him an autograph.
  21. Mojopin makes a good point, Who is available as far as FA pitchers go, next year? That being said, I still want my Z!
  22. Hahahaha, I love how its gotten to the point that we live our lives AROUND nsbb. Haha. By the way, I'm laughing, because I've done things like that, too!
