  1. Yep. I was thinking the same thing. Seems more bang bang than the first time i saw it but it’s still iffy to me because he drives Mitch’s head to the ground. Also they’ve been calling ticky tack fouls all game.
  2. Matthews falls on Mitch’s face 2 seconds after he is tackled and looks around worried about a flag...no call
  3. You can’t take that sack Mitch
  4. Completely agree. Never understood that rule, especially when players are frequently lunging for the goal line with 1 hand
  5. Yeah it was a horsefeathers up on multiple levels. Hate bitching about the officials but it seems very one sided right now
  6. They said he didn’t go out of bounds. If he’s inbounds and the ball is loose and touches the pylon while loose it’s considered a touchback similar to any loose ball in the end zone
  7. Fox has to be fired. Immediatey Instead of down at the 1 for 1st and goal, Fox challenges it and it turns out Packers back. Unreal n
  8. If this is a touchback...
  9. You can choose holding and pass interference there. No call
  10. Packers somehow look like a good offense against the Bears.
  11. Barth up to 67% this year
  12. 5 penalties on 2 offensive drives thus far...
  13. Maybe Shaheen is good after all
  14. At least someone thinks we have a shot:
  15. i was googling a new cubs hat earlier are you....are you watching me?
  16. the one and only hope is theo magic...and i mean some under the table tampering horsefeathers like he did with maddon and soler. Well yeah, Theo is cutthroat. They'll have third, fourth, fifth parties, speaking to him, paying him in bitcoins, whatever it horsefeathering takes, to get his extension happening immediately. We're all going to feel awful when we find out Theo has been using Lurie Children's Hospital via Rizzo as a front for smuggling money to Otani.
  17. Eh they have/had the advantage of riding the coasts but traditionally those three are the big three in American entertainment. Chicago may have hit a lull post-Jordan but that only plays into the narrative that this is a franchise and city moving up and fast. CHICAGO: A CITY ON THE GRRRRRRRRR-OOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW, AIMIRITE??!? Dude, get a grip. Otani is a huge improv comedy fan, we've got this in the bag.
  18. A distant 3rd though as much as I like to be a Chicago homer. It's not even close to LA and NY in terms of visibility globally so I really don't see the appeal of being "Chicago's Japanese star" being that much more than other slightly smaller metros.
  19. What would the Cubs have to do to be in the best position to sign him? Right now they have to be behind teams like the Dodgers and Yankees who both play in larger markets with significantly higher Japanese populations. The Yankees can offer millions more than the Cubs, both have competitive teams both now and into the foreseeable future, both have deep pockets, both have Japanese players already on their team. The Cubs can offer many of those things but not all of them. Would signing Darvish make the difference? Other than that it would take a hell of a Theo recruiting job. I'm not trying to be negative, I'm just hoping someone can sell me on feeling ok about the Cubs chances.
  20. Sweet I guess Reinsdorf changed his mind. I was too young to really remember the last Bulls (88), Cubs (90) or Blackhawks (91?) All Star games and I wasn't living in Chicago for the White Sox in 2003 so this is pretty cool
  21. I had a similar thought just because I want Harper so badly. It might not be a terrible approach to load up on bullpen arms and gamble on starting pitching and see if you can piece together a pitching staff to make the playoffs. Try to find starters who are either cheap relative to their potential upside (like Cobb), or veterans willing to sign for 1-2 years (similar to Lackey 2 offseasons ago but less douchey). Obviously you can also pull the trigger on a trade for a starter that won't screw up finances that badly. The idea is to sneak into the playoffs and have a BP that you can trust 4-5 guys deep and at least 3 very good starters. Sounds good in theory but with teams like the Brewers and Cardinals looking to be very aggressive this offseason, it could also easily lead to missing the playoffs.

  23. Am I the only one who instinctively looks to see how many hearts some of these posts got, only to be disappointed by the lack of the "heart" feature? Also, think of how many more of these amazing threads we would have had over the years had the Mod-Nazis not taken away this national treasure of a human being i've caught myself doing that a few times That and I catch myself wanting to respond to a post to pile on and then realize I am looking through a 7 year old thread in a locked forum.
  24. uh it's just nsbb? On my phone it looks like a Geocities page from 1998 Go to Board Preferences and change the board style to prosilver and it will work. I used to have the same problem.
  25. I would have thought they'd give Vegas an outdoor game. Or did they already do that? They did.......26 years ago https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1991_outdoor_NHL_game_in_Las_Vegas
