  1. Baseball is a funny sport. You know there are going to be periods of slumping and periods of streaking. It happens multiple times to every baseball team ever. But when they get into a slump it drives me absolutely insane.
  2. Since I only see the Rockies 6 games a year, I am just going to assume that Arenado actually sucks defensively.
  3. Boo-urns A 3B that hits HRs is a nice thing to have
  4. Cubs scored 19 runs in back to back games against the Rockies and Indians. In the 7 games afterwards they’ve scored 14 total runs (and gone 5-2!)
  5. 2015: 40% (30th) 2016: 50% (19th) 2017: 48% (28th) 2018: 38% (30th) I feel like a moron asking this but..how do we get better at this?
  6. If we were just average at getting runners home from 3rd with less than 2 outs instead of dead last for like the 3rd consecutive year we’d be unstoppable
  7. I’d say maybe Gray is a bad matchup for us if we didn’t touch him up for 7 runs last week
  8. I see our old friend Jorge is actually off to a decent start: .304/.434/.456/.890 line and is playing every day. 0.8 WAR in April
  9. I just realized the Cubs just went an entire turn of the rotation without giving up an earned run. How rare is that? Edit: 33 2/3 consecutive innings overall
  10. Will be interesting to see if he can adjust quickly and not go into an extended funk. I want April Javy to be at least mostly legit so badly
  11. In what world has Lester been bad? Sure you can argue that his peripherals are worse than his 2.89 ERA but what did you guys expect from Lester this season?
  12. Move him all the way down to AAA, IMO Finally time to install Schwarber as the full time 1B
  13. Geez. I don’t take joy in other teams injuries but...this is certainly a good thing for the Cubs
  14. You are surprised a matchup of two 2017 playoff teams is on national tv? I mean ESPN definitely has it's favorites... Yankees/Red Sox/Cubs/Cardinals/Astros/Dodgers get significant airtime over the rest of the league. Other than opening day where multiple games are aired, teams like Colorado/Arizona/Milwaukee/Toronto/Minnesota, who have been pretty good in recent years are rarely featured. Just an observation. You realize ESPN has baseball on like 3 nights a week right? There is probably some added prominence to playing on Sunday Night Baseball, but the weekday games definitely get a wider variety of teams.
  15. I don't think the Hawks are in a position to do anything but BPA. Is it true that the Hawks will actually have some cap space to work this offseason?
  16. Molina and Posey have overlapped enough to definitely be in the same generation. I have no idea how anyone could say Molina is better. Duh obviously because of all the things he does that are un-quantifiable even in this generation where almost everything is quantifiable.
  17. Go all the way back to 2009 which would give them literally the entire time the Cubs sucked between the playoff appearances as well as the last 3+ seasons. The Cubs have gone 45-35 against the Brewers at Wrigley. The Brewers have won the season series at Wrigley 3 times (2017, 2013, 2012), they split once (2010) and the Cubs have won in 6 times. Edit: I see others are furiously doing the math too...but mine goes back to 2009!
  18. It's obvious that Sterns made the Brewers get swept so that the Cubs would be in 1st at the trade deadline which will trick Theo into not making any deadline moves. That Sterns is operating at a much higher level than Theo.
  19. Interesting how the schedules have played out so far. The Cardinals, Brewers and Pirates have combined to go 29-5 against teams under .500 and 19-31 against teams over .500. For comparison's sake, the Cubs are 2-3 against teams under .500 and 13-7 against teams over
  20. For the most part I prefer ignoring the Brewers and their fans antics but this is pure insanity. First for your point above but second because his whole diss is based off being "pretty sure" the Brewers will win in his lifetime. You have to have absolutely nothing to grasp onto if that is the best bragging rights you can make.
  21. I’m stunned the first batter of the game walked on 4 pitches
