  1. Watching sane posters get crushed under the weight of negativity is interesting. Not criticizing you right now or singling you out. Just interesting
  2. We will be fine it’s still May but we have a lot of horsefeathers to fix
  3. Definitely in one of those periods where if it’s not the hitting it’s the pitching and if it’s not the pitching it’s the defense etc. they are clearly better than this but super frustrating and a little worrying
  4. Hendricks Quintana Darvish Lester Chatwood I'm not worried about Yu or Q, I think it's just a slump for both. Lester looks pretty bad this year though, and Chatwood looks great for 80% of each start but for the other 20% he looks like late career Carlos Marmol. I'd be less concerned if he had "one bad inning" disease but it comes and goes seemingly at random. I just don’t see Lester looking awful. At least not any more than some of the other guys. At times he actually looks really good still. Other times he struggles with command and gets caught nibbling too much. But what starter isn’t doing that more often than you’d like right now besides Hendricks?
  5. Out of curiosity how would you rank the Cubs starters by level of current confidence when they start right NOW (not long term) Hendricks Lester Chatwood Quintana Darvish Maybe switch Chatwood and Q. Darvish would rocket up with 1-2 good starts
  6. If the Cubs only played teams other than the Brewers all season they would be on pace for a 69-93 record
  7. Dates user r_mack has posted here: 5/4: Loss 5/1: Loss 4/17: Loss 4/14: Win 4/10: Loss 4/9: Rainout 4/3: Rainout 4/2: Loss 4/1: Loss So the only time you've posted in a game thread when the Cubs won, it was because they were losing 10-2 at the time of your posting. You should probably just quit following baseball, dude. He’s like this in all sports. I’ve come to honor his commitment to his act. I kind of want to go through his tweet history to see what he was saying back on 11/2/16 but I’d have to wade through so much negativity I’d probably be jumping off a bridge before I got there.
  8. 3 runs? Well by rule they have to stop scoring and we have 7 innings to try to tie them right? That’s how this works?
  9. Someone tell the Cubs that they don’t have to play boring uninspired baseball before turning it on in August every year. They can be good now and good later.
  10. any idea how long it takes to get Not sure but I was reading on reddit the other day that if something happens with your order and complain, Pat Hughes himself calls you to help. Not joking
  11. Looking forward to Bryant’s 5 HR season now
  12. Can we hurry up and get to the part where the Cubs dominate the second half of the season and look awesome in embarrassing their rivals?
  13. This is unrelated to your comment on his personal appearance, but the more I listen to him on the radio the more he feels like Ron Santo. Maybe a little more with it, and a little less of an unabashed homer with his heart on his sleeve, but definitely get the same overall vibe from him.
  14. HRs hit during the 2 days of winds blowing out heavily: Rockies: 6 Cubs: 2
  15. Yeah, not worried in the least. Just frustrating when they obviously aren't playing well, but worst case scenario here is a 5-2 homestead and splitting the season series against the Rockies so yeah I guess you take that every time. And going 14-9 over a 23 consecutive game stretch against teams over .500 (with 3 more to go)
  16. At least one of our guys knows how to use the wind to his advantage
  17. Also Javy is swinging at straight garbage again lately it seems like
  18. They're hitting ropes all around the OF, we're hitting grounders right to infielders
  19. Since posting this article, the Cubs as a team have combined for a .189/.247/.282/.528 line and scored 14 total runs in 7 games. Edit: Oh yeah and Heyward is 1-16 since then for a .067/.222/.133/.356 line.
  20. I mean yeah the error was the biggest play of the inning but he walked the leadoff man for the second inning in a row and gave up a sharp single and was charged with an earned run. Doesn't seem that unfair to me
