  1. [expletive] you can’t walk that tool
  2. If Joe learned anything about Q he should already be out of the game
  3. The “wait for the other team to throw the ball into CF to score” tactic is pretty strong too
  4. This was a great time for the offense to go ice cold
  5. The last time Bryant homered, Obama was president
  6. Good ones https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=0&type=8&season=2018&month=0&season1=2018&ind=0&team=0,ts&rost=&age=&filter=&players=0 Edit: To save you a click, Cubs are second in offensive (includes defense) WAR, by 0.1 WAR. Now look at just the second half (14th) I know random sample. I’m just sick of the offensive regression that has plagued virtually the entire second half
  7. Next time we rebuild we should focus on collecting hitters
  8. Haha game threads are truly a roller coaster ride
  9. Spoke too soon. Yeah I don’t know why people continue to get tricked. He might get out of this unscathed and his final line look good but it’s going to be a bumpy ride along the way and it will probably end too soon
  10. I think it more the 4th and 5th inning that gets him I was more thinking the inning after the Cubs score but it sounds like tonight it’s the second time through the order that kills him
  11. I was looking yesterday, I think there are at least 4-5 hitters on the Cubs with a lower wRC+ since the ASB but that probably says more about the rest of the Cubs sucking than anything else
  12. If history is any indication, this will be Quintana’s toughest inning. If he gets through it we probably win
  13. Yes but Willson would have grounded out weakly for a productive out
  14. Sucks to know we won’t score this inning because Q will take the most important AB Nevermind I assumed he would unintentionally intentionally walk
  15. Someone mentioned if he throws that pass it gets picked by Dix, don't know if that's a fact if Trubisky goes low on throw or high towards the back of the end zone. He's got to see that receiver coming open before Dix is in position to make a play. There was absolutely a window for an easy TD throw there Exactly. I am by no means an expert so I could be talking out my ass but it seems like something he should either be able to pick up pre-snap or sense as the play is developing.
  16. This game from less than a month ago says differently http://www.espn.com/mlb/game?gameId=380814116
  17. I don’t really care who is in the lineup. None of them are hitting so might as well throw horsefeathers at the wall
  18. I thought the latter pretty sure he meant the former. Game is still on this Thursday in DC come hell or high water (literally)
  19. this would be better. If we have won the division we can just send a B league roster to DC to play the game (or forfeit) and if we are out of it, we can make these chumps play the Nats out of spite. also, has any professional team actually forfeited a game? Can it happen? There have been a handful of forfeits due to fan behavior over the years (like Disco Demolition Night) but only 1 game since 1914 has been deliberately forfeited and it was due to some issue Earl Weaver had with a tarp being left on the field.
  20. They’ve announced Ross is starting Ok, good. Skipping Ross to pitch Scherzer in a meaningless game for the Nats would be a dick move It makes sense. All Scherzer has to play for is the Cy Young, so it wouldnt make a ton of sense to waste a start by having him pitch in a game that could possibly have a long delay and/or postponement halfway through the start
  21. I think both sides have a fair point. QBs develop at different rates...not necessarily right to give up on him yes, but very fair to acknowledge that there are some red flags popping up.
  22. The mayor of DC just declared a state of emergency for the DC region. But game is still on currently. Gotta make sure the Cubs drag their tired carcasses to Washington to play a game in a hurricane.
  23. Regarding Thursday: [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet]
