  1. Maybe...I still think the better team should play for the tie there but I wouldn’t have hated it if they did
  2. He is playing worse than Chase did last week. That said, he clearly is more likely to outperform Chase Daniel the rest of the game Huh? Lololololol He had a 12.5 QBR at halftime. Chase as bad as he was, was more productive last week. But because Mitch is a a more talented QB with a better arm, he is more likely to be better the rest of the game
  3. All I ever wanted in my life as a football fan was a coach that calls crazy ass offensive plays that work more than they don’t.
  4. Even hurt hes outplaying Chase He is playing worse than Chase did last week. That said, he clearly is more likely to outperform Chase Daniel the rest of the game
  5. Are we sure it’s that and it’s not one of his off games?
  6. Even with this HOF that you suggest, Harold Baines should not be in it. Can you remember one memorable moment in his career? If you let Harold Baines in you have to consider people like Tim Wallach, Paul O’Neill, Kent Hrbek, Ray Lankford
  7. Rams have to rely on their special teams to get a 1st down
  8. Seriously this is a bizarre selection. His best season WAR was 4.3 which was only one of 2 years over 3
  9. Has to be a good sign that the Hall used this picture in announcing his election
  10. Harold Baines? Solid player but I had no idea he was even a borderline case?
  11. Mitch is really off again
  12. Panthers and Redskins lose. Our playoff odds are looking even better right now
  13. I’m reminded of similar comments on CardsTalk as the Cubs prospects were getting close to coming up. Of course those people are morons and we’re slightly less moronic
  14. Agreed. The Sox farm system is loaded. If Eloy becomes the stud he's projected to become, it'll be painful. I doubt Bryce signs with them though - the league is littered with can't miss prospects. I'm not so sure it really is. Eloy is the only potential star in the mix. Kopech and Cease are both more likely to end up pen arms then starters. Moncada is putting up Russell numbers without the defense and position. What about their other 4 prospects currently in the top 100? None of them are potential stars?
  15. 24 hours later the Bulls lose by 56 points. Largest loss in Bulls history
  16. Dan Plesac was on the score this morning and he seemed pretty convinced that that the Cubs were going to make a big push for Harper and when asked to predict his destination he said Cubs. Not based on anything but good to see there are some in the media that believe in us
  17. I thought I read that this budget shutting closed wasn’t anticipated and it had something to do with the Wrigley renovations
  18. Why is that supposed to be impressive? (unless you were just setting up Wade Phillips comments today). Half the guys he just named and said they've been doing it for a long time. Not exactly a scouting report.
  19. meanwhile, the mainstream reporters are taking direct quotes from Theo: [tweet] [/tweet] Obviously doesnt mean they are out on Harper. In fact he might be alluding to the Cubs potentially trying to make it work, but it definitely confirms that we are under a tightish budget. Edit: More [tweet] [/tweet]
  20. I mean it was a gamble, but one that allowed them to get a pitcher with elite closer upside at an affordable rate. And he did just that for half a season, maybe he can do that for another half of a season. But I don't hate the move, especially because the Cubs built a pretty deep pen around him with Cishek, Strop, Edwards, Wilson, Monty (forgetting someone?) and supplementing during the season with Chavez when Morrow was still healthy. They certainly had plenty of depth to sustain the injury. Even when Strop went down and Edwards completely lost it, the Cubs were able to put together some semblance of a decent pen.
  21. Guess we discuss the Morrow news here since the other thread was rightly locked I'm glad that this was discovered now so we can plan accordingly. At this point we should just treat anything we get from Morrow at least in the 1st half of the season as a bonus as we build our 2019 pen.
  22. Yes that's certainly the goal and the number 1 focus. But since 4 of the last 5 competitive Bears teams had epic collapses to miss the playoffs, I'd feel more comfortable knowing that we clinched our spot in the dance and the Wild Card will likely be clinched sooner. 2008 - Just needed to beat a crappy Texans team to make it 2009 - Not competitive 2010 - Made the playoffs 2011 - Started 7-3 and finished 8-8 2012 - Started 7-1 and finished 10-6 and out of playoffs 2013 - Just needed to win one of last 2 games to make playoffs and lost both 2014 - Not competitive 2015 - Not competitive 2016 - Not competitive 2017 - Not competitive
  23. Lester Hendricks Darvish Quintana Hamels Number of idiots needed to make my original post: 1
  24. Goldschmidt career against RHP: .899 OPS Goldschmidt career against LHP: 1.022 OPS Number of RHP in the Cubs starting rotation: 1 Number of LHP in the Cubs starting rotation: 4
  25. My stomach is already in knots thinking about the first Carl-Goldschmidt matchup with the game on the line.
