  1. wouldnt be a cubs game without the Cubs blowing a runner on 3rd, 0 outs situation in a close game.
  2. Acceptable Russell Walkup songs: Beck - Loser Beatles - I'm a Loser Radiohead - Creep (emphasis on the line "I don't belong here") I'm sure there are plenty of other ones to add.
  3. The latest big Theo FA signing doing what big Theo FA signings do...sounds about right
  4. World Series game 2, starting a shutout with the wind blowing straight out at Wrigley Field with his dad in the stands will most likely go down as the highlight of his career, I'd say that's enough. 2 things about that game (game 3): 1. How the horsefeathers was only 1 scored in that game with the wind blowing straight out and a guy that was known for giving up dongs at a high rate that season and a guy that maxes out at 88 (obviously way underselling Hendricks here) starting? 2. Javy came up with runners on 2nd and 3rd down by 1 run with 2 outs in the 9th inning of a World Series game and all I keep thinking about is that Javy is the coolest dude in baseball and how much cooler he inexplicably could have gotten with a base hit there.
  5. I'm still understanding of Zo's personal leave and if he doesn't want to come back its cool, but I really wish he would find his way back to Wrigley.
  6. I'm just shocked that a good inning immediately turned to horsefeathers when the garbage ass bottom of the order came up.
  7. I'm gonna be honest, I only remember Adam Warren and Trevor Cahill sucking Warren did suck (at least until the damn instant we traded him back to the Yankees), I think he meant somebody else. Cahill was actually quite good in 15 and 16, though he only started once. I was specifically referring to spot starts. In Warren's spot start he gave up 1 run in 5 innings although the Cubs did ultimately lose the game.
  8. i think 2 reasons: 1 - they thought his early season stuff in long relief was encouraging and could produce ok enough results against a guy who has been shelled in his first 2 MLB starts. Remember when we used to start guys like Adam Warren and Trevor Cahill and inexplicably it worked? It always seemed to work back then just as it always seems to fail now. 2 - They are in the middle of their most difficult and strenuous stretch of the season and they want to take a chance and help keep the veteran arms like Lester and Cole (and I guess Yu) rested. Of course this goes completely against their "urgency starts in april" mantra they went on and on about in the spring, and even if this was the plan it should have been thrown out the window when Hendricks went on the DL, but who knows what the horsefeathers the FO and manager is doing these days
  9. I'm shocked that we might lose 3 of 4 to a red hot better baseball team while we started a guy making his first MLB start (albeit promising guy), Darvish and Chatwood.
  10. June OPS of the 6-9 of this lineup: Caratini - .554 Gonzalez - .635 Descalso - .415 Chatwood - .500
  11. And we helped out the dude that allowed runs in 5 of his last 7 appearances. Yay us helping everyone else out.
  12. This team is so stupid. Get better somehow
  13. Can we delete the 100+ page Yu signing thread? It’s embarassing how excited we were to sign one of the worst starters in the league.
  14. Quickly losing interest in the 2019 Chicago Cubs. Fix your mess Theo
  15. Can’t be getting behind by multiple runs with this offense. Dammit Yu
  16. Wonder if the Cubs offense will do offensive things tonight
  17. Find it interesting Robel Garcia is starting in the OF for the first time all season. Possibly getting him used to playing there for a potential call up?
  18. Lot of horsefeathering outs on the bases lately
  19. Who's complaining? He's having a very good season. I just like dongs
  20. Does Sofa need to bring up the HR tracker thing again? 2 HR in his last 23 games.
