  1. Getting courted by the Bulls causes you reevaluate your career and abruptly retire
  2. Not loving this matchup w Javy You can all thank me when he dongs
  3. I know Castillo is having a really good year so not really based on this game but our offense is pretty damn mediocre
  4. 1 more and he will have the 3rd highest total of his career. 5 more and he will have the 2nd highest
  5. We inturrupt your regularly scheduled hating on the Cubs to bring you Rizzo watching fireworks
  6. From what I’m reading, depending on severity recovery time can range from 1-2 weeks to 3-4 months
  7. I’m probably being overly negative but it really seems like we have a horsefeathers load of holes to shore up and not a ton of resources to do so. Depending on Hendricks and Hamels health status we could need or at least could greatly benefit from: -1-2 starters and not just a 4 or a 5, we need a legit 2 or at worst 3. If Hendricks and Hamels come back soon then maybe we can make due -Specialist who can get lefties out -Ideally another strong middle reliever -2 bench bats -Ideally an outfielder -Someone to jettison Addison Russell to the sun Resources to do that are a bottom 5 farm system and right at the artificial payroll ceiling the owners set.
  8. Thank you for immediately making it worse Monty. Cubs have way too many people on this roster that aren’t performing like major league players
  9. Haha our only 2 consistent reliable starters are now injured. This season is fucked if he’s gone long. Awful...paying for good pitching health a few seasons ago
  10. Bryant cost the Cubs the division by doing that last year. (I think that was last year vs Milwaukee but could have been this year) Actually now that I think about it, it was the exact opposite. He tried to get an inning ending double play INSTEAD of throwing home and couldn’t get the 2nd out
  11. He made the right play, Russell is just horsefeathering garbage Yes. That was a fairly tough throw but again if he’s going to hit like a pitcher and our brilliant front office insists on gifting him a roster spot he has to make plays like that more often than not
  12. Bryant cost the Cubs the division by doing that last year. (I think that was last year vs Milwaukee but could have been this year)
  13. horsefeathers you russell. Your only value (in life not just baseball) is to horsefeathering make plays like that
  14. I actually do too, but my father in law worked for the bread company that sells Skyline their hot dog buns so they refuse to eat anywhere else lol
  15. I don't think its "good" but I think its edible. My wife is from Cincinnati and she insists we go there every time we visit her parents. I eat it....would never go out of my way to go there otherwise though.
  16. I want Almora starting over Yelich, damn it. Could be tough for KB too. Rendon is probably in over him and then there’s Turner, Machado and Donaldson for coaches decisions too. Brian Anderson could be the Marlins rep as well and horsefeathers him. Agree on Rizzo, not upset if those guys get the break off. Crazy that if he doesn’t make it, it would be 3 years in a row despite being one of the top 2-3 3B in the league during those years
  17. Cubs love those big comebacks at Wrigley against the Braves
  18. Perfect situation for Kimbrel's debut. Have them face the soft tossing Cubs pitching staff for almost 4 games and then bring in someone throwing 98. It must look like 115 mph to them.
  19. I was about to give Willson props for stealing his first strike of the season but then I remembered Caratini is in the game.
  20. Time to decide if we love Kimbrel 3000 or we hate him forever.
  21. He hasn't pitched for the Braves in like 7 years There are 2 position players in this game that were on the Braves the last time Kimbrel pitched for them, and one of them is Jason Heyward
  22. Barring 'screw the closer' we will see Kimbrel in a minute.
  23. Thank God they didn't try to bring him into the booth for an interview.
  24. Acceptable Russell Walkup songs: Beck - Loser Beatles - I'm a Loser Radiohead - Creep (emphasis on the line "I don't belong here") I'm sure there are plenty of other ones to add. The Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up Cubs already tried that with Chapman.....
