  1. Well at least we’re still guaranteed to be in first if we lose the rest of this series
  2. Wow. I mean he probably deserves to be DFAd but there has to be something else that happened to be let go in between games of a doubleheader, unless the Cubs have another guy already at Wrigley
  3. Welp, Cubs had all the momentum, had Wainright flustered early and then choked on a bases loaded 0 outs situation and really didn’t do much of anything the rest of the game besides Happ’s HR. Stupid unnecessary loss.
  4. Bryant 3-18 since coming off the DL. His BA has dropped .002 points during that span to show you the kind of year he’s having
  5. What would the Cubs record be if Happ, Darvish and Jeffress were replaced by replacement level players?
  6. Ok i went and looked it up. There was probably a way to do this more efficiently but whatever... The Cubs have had 6 situations where they’ve loaded the bases and 0 outs this season. Here is how they have done: 1-14 with 1 BB and 3 runs scored 9/5 vs. STL - 0-3, 0 runs scored 8/29 at CIN- 0-2, 1 run scored on sac fly, 1 BB (after the sac fly) 8/22 vs. CWS - 0-2, 0 runs scored, GIDP 8/21 vs. CWS - 0-2, 0 runs scored, GIDP 8/3 vs. KC - 0-2, 1 run scored on sac fly, 1 BB after sac fly 7/31 vs. PIT - 1-3, 1 run scored on a single
  7. I read somewhere that teams score 85% of the time with the bases loaded and 0 outs. I would guess the Cubs are somewhere around 40% or so
  8. what a horsefeathering terrible at bat for Souza with the bases loaded and 0 outs. Now comes a ground ball hitter
  9. That’s some 4D chess logic Nagy is the king of 4D chess
  10. White Sox still taking advantage of that soft schedule. Now 15-2 against the Royals, Tigers and Pirates and 9-13 against everyone else. Their next 7 games are also against those 3 teams.
  11. Jeffress is having a major challenge throwing strikes tonight...
  12. Yu now has 7 straight starts of 6+ IP and 0 or 1 ER. His ERA during that span is 0.98
  13. I knew that was going to horsefeathering happen
  14. This is a very minor dig because well done in the 1st Cubs but it sucks that Flaherty got through the 2nd in 10 pitches
  15. I hope he has a short leash if he sucks
  16. Completely forgot this was an afternoon game but it looks like it was a good thing I missed it. -Caught stealing twice -2 GIDPs -0 runs scored in a bases loaded, 1 out situation in the 6th -0 runs scored in a 1st and 3rd, 0 outs situation in the 3rd -3 hit inning with 0 runs scored due to one of those caught stealings -5 of the 6 Pirate runs scored with 2 outs I'm infuriated just reading the PBP
  17. The whole last 3 mins or so of the game was really disjointed by both teams. There was a 10 second span where 2 Thunder players and 1 Rocket tried to flop and sell offensive fouls and none of them were called. Then on the Thunders 3rd to last possession with the shot clock basically off instead of taking a TO, Chris Paul drives into traffic and bobbles the ball away. Then the plays you mentioned. You also forgot to mention that right before the last inbounds they called a foul on the Rockets before the inbounds which gave the Thunder a FT and possession. They missed the FT and then as you pointed out, threw the ball away on the final inbounds. Sucks. The Thunder were a fun story this year and assuming Presti drafts well they are set up to be good for a long time. But would have been cool to see Paul beat the team that basically cast him off to a Thunder team that just traded their 2 best players away
  18. Pirates attempting to play defense last game:
  19. I wouldn't believe it if someone told me he's ever not grounded out to shortstop When he faces a lefty he sharply grounds out to 3B so he’s got that going for him
  20. Hmm honestly with how well the bullpen games have gone this year (albeit I think all have been 7 inning games) I'm fine with just doing a Alzolay/pen game in place of a 5th starter.
  21. I’m concerned he’s forgotten his own name at this point Uhhhhhhhh... :banghead: :banghead: I'm leaving it up as a monument to my poor reading comprehension skills
  22. I’m concerned he’s forgotten his own name at this point
