  1. Marlins OPS against LHP is 100 points higher (.776) than it is against RHP (.673) This is no time to reward your buddies or someone who used to be a postseason stud. I heart Jon like everyone else here but come on. I do at least feel somewhat confident that he will be on a short leash, and if he is yanked we have solid options to cover innings. But it might be too late by then.
  2. Looks like Kyle is actually going game 1:
  3. Wow we started our threads 4 mins apart lol. Well here is what I asked in my thread: They don’t start until tomorrow but I wanted to ask what’s up with the start times tomorrow: Astros @ Twins - 1 PM White Sox @ Athletics - 2 PM Blue Jays @ Rays - 4 PM Yankees @ Indians - 6 PM Weird that all 4 games start in a 5 hour window. Why not start the Twins game at noon, As at 3, Rays at 6 and Indians at 9? Super excited for watching the playoffs and most of the games will be over by the time I’m off work. Edit: do you think it’s because of the presidential debate
  4. This Cubs offense facing Marlins pitching
  5. Just ignore the World Series part and the gator logo
  6. The last game you watched was a game that was being played opposite a Bears game?
  7. I’m just talking about overall team direction and strategy. The FO is making moves and decisions as if they are in the middle of a competitive window. Recognizing that helps when trying to determine future moves/direction
  8. Regardless of how you feel about Foles the rest of this season, yesterday's benching all but confirmed that the Bears are on yet another journey to find a franchise QB. What do you think the short term and long term plan is at QB? The Bears will not be bad enough to draft a QB at the top of the 1st round. You can find QBs lower in the first round with high upside but the risk is a lot higher. And as much as I'd love someone like Trevor Lawrence, the Bears have pissed away enough draft capital in recent years, and with the cap flattening or possibly going down, the Bears are going to need the cheapish production that draft picks bring. So I guess short term you roll with Foles this year and next assuming he doesn't completely suck and then see what your options are? At that point the Bears may be at the end of their quasi competitive window and need to do some sort of rebuild anyways, though its possible they keep the defense productive long enough to avoid a complete collapse.
  9. I get that ABC owns ESPN but I can’t remember the last time they’ve aired a baseball broadcast (other than ABC7 Cubs games). I’m guessing it’s a way to show all of the games since many will overlap
  10. Yeah poor guy. He’s gotta be so annoyed at this matchup
  11. I also read that Game 2 is a 1pm start too. horsefeathers, I have a super busy week at work, looks like I won’t be seeing much Edit: actually that was an unverified twitter account. Can’t find anything else that says it.
  12. Still can’t believe we managed to get 4 of the 5 NL Central teams in the playoffs. Sorry Pirates
  13. Final stats: 21-3 vs Pirates, Royals and Tigers 14-22 against everyone else After running off a torrid 8-1 stretch against those scrub teams, they turned around and went 5-9 against real teams again.
  14. 6 more Brewer outs until we’re locked into Miami
  15. Not sure why you choose this post in particular to respond to, or why you felt the need as a Packers fan to horsefeathers on a really fun victory that had nothing to do with your team but ok. Ummm, don’t be so sensitive. The fact that I’m a Packers fan has nothing to do with my post. The three teams they beat are trash. But losing to those teams would’ve been worse. Wins are good. It was weird because you chose to reply to my post which didn’t talk at all about how good the Bears are or the quality of the opponents they’ve played. So not sure why the response to my post about overcoming adversity today is telling me that the bears are beating up on bad teams
  16. Same. But I acknowledge it’s because I’m a wuss and don’t want the possibility of losing to the stupid Cardinals
  17. How about Davont...oh wait
  18. Think about everything they had to overcome. Down 16 in the 4th quarter, they had TWO TDs overturned and both resulted in a loss of possession. They made a QB switch mid game, they didn’t get the 2 point conversion that would have made it a 1 possession game. They lost their backup RB and punt returner to a devistating injury. The refs seemed to be way more willing to call penalties on the bears. I rip on Nagy for a lot, and I still will, but keeping his team poised and focused despite all that is a reflection on him Wins are always good, regardless of the opponents. But the3wins are against teams that are currently 0-8 and most 0-9 by the end of the day. Those three teams probably picking in the Top 5 of the draft. Not sure why you choose this post in particular to respond to, or why you felt the need as a Packers fan to horsefeathers on a really fun victory that had nothing to do with your team but ok.

  20. So in 3 weeks the Bears have completed 16 and 17 point 4th quarter comebacks and in the other game they were 10 yards away from blowing a 14 point 4th quarter lead
  21. This is one of the more memorable bears wins that I can remember for some time, mostly because of the comeback after the QB switch
  22. Since the Marlins are up 3-0 yes definitely
