  1. Might be 2-2 now... Kyle with the meatball
  2. The Cubs are 2-1 when they score first....1-0 when the opponent scores first. Go Cubs!
  3. I mean yeah the Bulls have given absolutely no reason to think they can win this series. I wouldn't say its impossible but I wouldn't expect any expert to predict a Bulls win. More telling is that 16 of the 20 have the Bulls losing in 4 or 5 games and no one has it going 7. I think Game 1 is going to tell us everything we need to know about the series. If the Bulls get blown out from the jump, they are going down in 4. If its close for some or all of the game there is a chance the Bulls can steal 1 in Chicago or maybe 2. If they somehow win Game 1, we might actually have a series. The hope I guess is that this week gives the Bulls a chance to reset and to get some practice in to fix the issues they've had since the ASB. Teams have figured out how to smother DeRozan, particularly late in games and the Bulls have had no answer for it. There is not a ton of time to practice in the regular season so if there was ever a time to fix it strategically its now.
  4. Ummm, no, you are just completely wrong. That's not anywhere close to the truth. The Ricketts were anti-Trump republicans until he got the nomination then went full throttle in support of him and fans that were aware and not awful conservatives themselves, hated it, and were vocal about it. This dated all the way back to 2016, and included the horsefeathers decision to make a 2nd white house visit just to see trump even though they did the official visit with Obama. Yeah I don't know what PriorFighter is talking about, people were pretty vocal about this for a while. There is at least one formerly prominent poster here that left well before 2020 due to issues with the Ricketts. There's a thread titled "The Ricketts family sucks in all kinds of ways" that was started in 2018.
  5. I mean I'm not terribly optimistic about Schwindel and haven't been but I'd give him more than 4 games before bailing on him
  6. WYD Wisdom? Ball was going right to Nico...
  7. This is a horrible lazy comparison because they are both Japanese players, but I cant help drawing comparisons to Fukudome's start in 2008. Was hitting for power, drawing walks, taking great ABs. His numbers is Japan were fairly similar too except 1) Seiya's were a bit better and 2) Seiya was younger so more likely that he can actually hit like this full time. Now smart people give me additional reasons why the comparison is not apt
  8. So great we have a contact hitter who can bounce into double plays on the regular
  9. Bucks in 3
  10. President of the Reds to fans mad about their sell off: Tough horsefeathers you have no choice but to root for us. At least PTR only says those things behind closed doors.
  11. Another friendly. Wouldn’t be a World Cup year without playing Ghana
  12. So officially playing the Bucks. That sucks, I least wanted to play them. Another moment for Milwaukee/Wisconsin sports fans to own Chicago sports fans. That said we at least had 2 close games against them so maybe at least one of the losses isn’t by double digits
  13. I get that it’s probably instinctual to slide on a close play but it’s basically proven that sliding is slower. Why do people still do it?
  14. Hader is lurking. Given he hasn’t pitched the first 2 games he’s probably got the last 2 right?
  15. He shouldn't have been around to begin with. He hasn't been anything but terrible since 2018. He was pretty good last year on the surface. 30 appearances, 2.14 ERA, 2.01 FIP unless the underlying numbers suggest he was much worse
  16. Wonder if Ross pulled Stroman for pitch count (79 when the target was 85-90) or facing the top of the order for the 3rd time.
  17. Not feeling the 2018 vibes from Jesse Chavez
  18. It's not really irrational. He swings too much. So great to have a hitter that you don’t have to worry about striking out almost ever *hits into a double play* Well horsefeathers
  19. I’m happy with the start but trying to put it into perspective. You don’t have to go back too far to find a team that started out great against a contender and didn’t keep it up very long. *cough2021Orioles*. This team will be considerably better than that example but their ultimate ceiling is still TBD What excites me the most is the working the counts and putting pressure on the pitchers. I still think this team is going to struggle to hit for power but if they can keep grinding out ABs they can score some runs.
