    Game isn’t over yet either lol I mean, I get it. There’s no chance - and I mean NO CHANCE - a dominant Astros team would ever lose Games 6 and 7 at home in the World Series to a far inferior NL East team. So tonight really is it for the Phillies.     I was gonna go as far as trading for him in one league to really jinx us, but my league mate had no interest. My other league he's actually still available, but I have Hurts and am in it to win it whereas the other league I'm last place and trolling for possible keepers now. Also it's a 6pt passing TD league, so running heavy QBs can be slightly muted value wise. I made a bold move to make Fields a keeper after I owned him last year. I literally came thisclose to dropping him after week 4. Tried to dangle him in a trade but including him actually decreased the value of the trade I was offering in other team's eyes. I think I started Bridgewater over him one week (superflex). But now he's a must start. I always hated owning Bears in fantasy because more often than not they were a disappointment and I hated when they failed my fantasy team and my real life team, but in his case its helping both for once!

    Robert Quinn would have been one but he missed the Bears game vs. Minnesota. Eagles already had their bye and he played for them last Sunday. Quinn played 50 snaps against Minnesota, he just didn't register anything in the box score. He could be the first 18 gamer since they standardized the schedule. Whoops. I couldn’t remember him not playing a game but since he didn’t register a game played I assumed he missed it. Instead he just did nothing

    Obviously he'll get his bye in week 14, but with all this trade activity I was wondering... Has a guy ever started more than 16 games (pre 2021) or is anyone slated to start 18 games this year because they didn't catch either end of the bye and got traded?     Claypool practicing today. They're definitely gonna have a package of plays for him to be in for this weekend. So much for that Steelers bye week he was on lol

    To play devil's advocate, we saw this approach under Trestman. Best offense the Bears have had and a historically bad defense ruined the season. The Bears have a ways to go to get to a 20ppg, 5 y/p defense after losing Roquan. Quinn isn't a big factor, but Smith was....and they already needed pretty much everything else on the front 7. But yeah, I don't care about a crippled defense in a rebuilding season. But they are going to have to put significant resources into that side of the ball this offseason as well. Not just on the offensive side. I think he's just talking about this season. No way Eberflus is going to be happy with an all offense/no defense team long term.

    Well Michigan is getting docked for their weak NC schedule even though Clemson has played Furman and Louisiana Tech for their NC games which is just as bad if not worse. Michigan has also played 3 teams that by SP+ are better than the best team Clemson has played. Michigan also crushes them on computer metrics and has beaten every team on their schedule by 2+ scores (except Maryland who scored a prevent TD when the game was already over), while Clemson has 3 wins of 6 points or less (including 1 in 2OT). Blah blah blah it doesn't matter ultimately, but Clemson pisses me off because there really isn't a ton of things you can point to where Clemson is ahead of Michigan.

    They can't get the ball down the field. They have Bears level OL talent and their QBs have noodle arms. They were doing that out of necessity to get him the ball. From a 14.5 ypc career guy to about 9 this year. I don't see any reason he can't be that 14ypc guy again right away. There's no way Trubisky and Pickett are more noodle armed then end of career Ben right? Kind of what I was thinking. Not sure about Pickett's arm but Mitch has above average arm strength. Not as strong as Fields but he could get it down the field.

    He ended up +1 on draft picks after both swaps. Good arbitrage, even though the net pick value ends up being like a mid 4th to low 3rd when factoring in the 2nd swap. And he got an extra 17 cheap games out of the player swap, independent of how you see the value between the two. We basically gave away 510 "points" of capital plus 1/2 season of Roquan and got back 348.2 plus 1.5 seasons of Claypool, so basically like losing a mid-3rd. This is based on the Bears finishing in the 8th slot and Ravens in the 27th slot. If its more like the 20th slot then we're looking at 510 vs. 418.2 and a loss of an early 4th round pick in terms of value. So basically just affirming what you've said

    Less relevant now after the Claypool trade, but the Jags are trading for Ridley Looks like a 2024 2nd rounder and a pick that based on incentives can be as high as a 5th rounder in 2023.

    It's kind of crazy though. Claypool was the 49th overall pick in 2020. He's been good but hasn't become a star (though has the ability to become one) and he's 1.5 years from FA. How often do you see someone in a situation like that traded for a better pick than the one used to select them? Definitely a win-win deal for both sides. Steelers have to be thrilled.

    there's some value to locking in your big WR move right now. You get him in now, he learns the system and develops rapport with Fields. And now in the offseason you don't *have* to use a 1st on a WR, though you can, and you don't have to worry about the thin WR market as much.

    I bet the Packers were also offering a 2nd which is why the Bears had to offer their 2nd rounder to get it done.

    This really seems like a pretty big vote of confidence by the FO for Fields doesn't it? I get that you need WRs anyways, but seems like they'd be much less likely to trade for one in season if they were on a rebuilding path where they still needed to get a QB.

    So basically we traded Roquan for Claypool and a 5th. I can live with that.
