    Day 1 is only the 1st round. They aren't getting 4-5 1st round picks They're doing a 3 day draft this year? I thought it was 1-2 the first day? Or is it 1 the first day, 2-7 the next? For the last several years its been 1st round on Thurday, 2-3 and Friday, 4-7 on Saturday

    The second you put him on the market and let teams know you're open to trading him after 2 years it devalues him. It's a stain all on its own. Not that it's a route I would want them to take even if it weren't the case. Why can't you say the same thing about the no. 1 pick? The second you put it on the market, you're devaluing the top prospect. It's a stain all on its own. I don't see that as the same. When someone trades a top 3 pick its usually because there is a high profile QB available and the team holding that pick is set at QB. The Bears trading the number 1 pick with Fields on the roster doesn't mean that teams think Bryce Young must suck. It just means that the Bears are satisfied with their young QB and value getting multiple future high picks instead.

    They will want to jump the Texans and the Texans won't want teams to jump them. The teams will absolutely have to want a specific one. Between Young, Levis, Richardson, and Stroud I don't see a lot of separation. This isn't a Peyton Manning draft. I wish it was. It’s funny I see this take but I also see the take that Bryce Young is that generational talent that teams want badly. I agree the drop off from Young to Stroud/Levis is sizable to where if they aren’t getting Young they’d be content with waiting it out. I could be wrong but that’s what I’ve seen.

    Division opponent - requires an extra 1st than anyone else Say they offer 6/18/2nd plus ‘24 1st, do you turn it down? I know its a hypothetical but I don't think they would come close to that offer. I think Goff played well enough this year that they are confident moving forward with him for now, or at least in the position where they aren't going to mortgage the future to draft a potential franchise QB, especially by trading all those picks to a division rival. In making this post I looked up his stats this year and while I knew he had a solid year I didn't know they were this good: 65.1% completion percentage (19th in NFL) 4438 yards (6th in NFL) 7.6 YPA (6th) 29 TD (5th) 7 INT (6th least of QBs who threw for 2000+ yards) 99.3 QB Rating (7th) 61.2 QBR (5th) He's only 28, still has 2 years on his deal and while its an improvement over his prior 3 years, he has had a couple of similar seasons with the Rams so its not like its a complete outlier.

    So, Steelers have had 3 coaches since when the Beatles were still together and the Texans have had 4 coaches roughly since Trump lost the election. Amazing.

    I don’t mind that trade if you are dead set on giving Fields ample weapons. Moore might be the best possible WR that the bears can acquire. That said I’d rather do that trade but with the Colts/Pittman Like Pittman better or just like staying in the top 4 more? Like staying in the top 4 more. I like Pittman as a WR though, just a little less than Moore.

    I'd be pretty disappointed if that was all they got for the #1 overall pick. Effectively, in that trade, DJ Moore would have to be worth the equivalence of another 1st round pick. The gap in value between 1 and 9 is immense. I don’t mind that trade if you are dead set on giving Fields ample weapons. Moore might be the best possible WR that the bears can acquire. That said I’d rather do that trade but with the Colts/Pittman

    Let the bidding war begin between the Colts, Raiders, Falcons and Panthers (the Broncos and Rams do not have top 10 picks thanks to the win now deals they made). I'd also be curious if Houston was willing to pull a Trubisky with the Bears and trade a bunch of draft assets to make sure they get their guy at 1, and then trade down again from 2 to 4/7/8/9 to pull additional draft capital. Ending up with something like the 4 pick, and then 33 and 35, and two additional third round picks, and a couple of high 2024 picks, would be quite the haul. I've seen that proposed a lot and it seems almost too good to be true. The Texans seem like a stupid organization and I bet they will not want to trade with the Bears due to the sting of losing the pick in the last moment. They'll be satisfied with Stroud/Levis. But I'm completely open to everything, whatever gets us the most capital while still getting us a high impact player in the 1st round.

    I replied to that back in Sept and said that while they will likely be underdogs in every remaining game they would probably cobble together a couple of wins and go 5-12. Over the last couple hours random people have replying to dunk on me for suggesting that they may only be 5-12 bad instead of 3-14 bad. It shouldn't take much googling to find Bears fans with much worse takes.

    Curious to hear thoughts on what the Bears should do at RB this offseason. Certainly not even a top 10 priority this offseason but with Monty's FA, the amount of resources the Bears have, and the number of high profile RBs available, its worth discussing. Among the FA's are Saquan Barkley, Josh Jacobs, Tony Pollard and Miles Sanders. Are any of them enough of an upgrade over Monty to spend a little more resources to acquire? Barkley seemed to wear down this year as time went on and Jacobs got a ton of usage this year so that concerns me a bit. Tony Pollard though.... 25 years old, has never been a primary back for a full season so his legs have relatively limited miles, and has shown the ability to step up and actually outplay Zeke for the Cowboys. Or do you just resign Montgomery or make Herbert the primary back and draft a 1a to go with him?

    Cardinals lose, Broncos win so I think that makes the Colts 4th overall. Good spot if you want trade down to if you are ok with getting whichever of Anderson or Carter is not taken already

    Honestly this seems like a weak election year attempt to show that Chicago is trying to keep the Bears. Weak because no one really believes the city of Chicago would be able to complete such a project and also because the city basically already drove the Bears away.

    So if you follow the Jimmy Johnson chart, the difference between 1 overall and 2 overall is roughly a mid-2nd round pick. And if you compare the difference between 1 overall and 4 overall which the Bears could have fallen to with a win, the difference is roughly the 12th overall pick. Great day for the organization. Now lets never do this again.
