  1. Yep. Our last few playoff wins as a city: -Bulls win Game 2 against Bucks, get blown out the next 3 games to end season -Sox won 2 games in series they lost -Blackhawks won while down 0-3 in a playoff series they never would have played in if it wasn't for a global pandemic -Cubs scratched across a win against the Dodgers while being down 0-3 and then got blown out the next night to end the season
  2. So crazy to me that Seiya had 2 HRs from mid-July to late September and then all the sudden has 6 in his last 5 games. I’m down with it!
  3. It will absolutely be changed to a night game if it’s the only Game 3. At least that’s how they’ve done it the previous 2 years. I would say the only way it stays at 2pm is if 3 or 4 of the series go to a deciding game.
  4. It had been 1,259 days since the last "Big 5" Chicago playoff victory
  5. Very interested to see who is starting tomorrow now that we won. Do we give Shota the bulk of the innings knowing that he has the highest ceiling and we have at least a little buffer if he gets blown up (but should still treat it like our backs are to the wall). Or do we patch together a bullpen game and risk being down a couple arms in Game 3 if we don't win? I think opener + Shota is the best option. The other thing is, if it goes 3 games and we start Taillon on Thursday, you are looking at Rea likely starting Game 1 of the NLDS against his former team.
  6. 1 win away from a playoff series against the New Cardinals (but not nearly as bad or satanic)
  7. Maybe he's like Hader and occasionally he randomly blows up
  8. Getting the leadoff guy is huge here as the 9 hitter with the top of their order due up.
  9. PCA's article had me pumped up today. Hope he practices what he preaches about not letting things get to him when they aren't going well.
  10. Keller, Thielbar, Kittredge. Which 2 do you ideally go with to close it out?
  11. 6 more outs....the 8th will probably be the toughest.
  12. how's ESPN gonna cut off Eddie Vedder singing the 7th inning stretch?
  13. Remember when we signed Pomeranz and were like 'lolz this dude hasnt pitched in the majors in 2 years, what's he gonna do for us?' Now he's pitching in the 7th inning of a playoff game protecting a 1 run lead.
  14. This is not going to help the very fickle Cubs twitter relationship with Ian Happ
  15. Wow 2 pitches to turn a 1st and 2nd 0 out situation into end of inning.
  16. The way this game is going, another run would make me a decent amount more comfortable.
  17. I swear this color dude is trying to do a Tony Gwynn impression
  18. 5 straight games with a HR and 6 in those 5 games, crazy
  19. I don’t think he was back long enough to re-establish himself as one of the back end guys
