  1. Wonder if Cuas was the plan in this one or forced into it because Ross blew 2 of his higher leverage relievers in the 6th (yes I’m admitting Fulmer is back on the fringes of that circle) good opportunity for him to gain more confidence
  2. Oh so that’s what would have happened if Gomes hit the other day
  3. No probably not, seems weird to pull your starter early and then start pulling your top relievers early for matchup purposes in the 6th inning.
  4. 2 strikes to Schneider who doubles, 2 strikes to Biggio who walks, 2 strikes to Espinal who doubles. Meanwhile we went to at least 3 balls to 5 of the 7 hitters in the inning.
  5. And the pen blows it load management may have cost us the game
  6. I guess I get it. Especially during a stretch with 3 off days in 8 day span you can lean on your pen a little more which has been sharp. Also Assad make this a more viable option by going 7 yesterday
  7. Ok a little surprised they pulled Steele after 5 and 84 pitches.
  8. Which is fine, I’m more than happy if he can be a solid number 2 that occasionally has great outings and rarely has blow up outings. Same with Stroman when he returns. If the offense continues to play this week that will get us far. Way more than I expected from Steele when he first came up that’s for sure. Would love to get a true ace though whether it’s Horton or via FA/trade
  9. For Bautista jersey retirement. Not sure why they didn’t do it before 2:07
  10. Laughing at the Twitter discourse about Fields stats looking good because his weapons did all the work.
  11. What a messy game. Not a great fumble for Scott
  12. Not sure but whatever. With Herbert, Foreman, Johnson and Homer on the roster the only way Ebner is on the roster is if he has a ST role
  13. I’m fine keeping him for gadget plays if there is space on the roster for him but he should never be involved on punt returns. That’s his 3rd TO in limited number of attempts
  14. Don’t get hurt this year Justin
  15. What the horsefeathers horsefeathers is Velus Jones doing? Are you kidding me?
  16. Fields nearly tripled Loves yardage that Packers fans were bragging about last night. of course those came on a FB screen, WR screen and a checkdown but that’s what happens when you have elite talent that can make plays and good blocking
  17. Ok so that was a good addition
  18. Short pass accuracy ✅
  19. All that Twitter discourse about how the offense struggling in practice means the defense is actually good… *yes an overreaction but w/e
  20. Yeah the 3-6 winner is locked into playing the 2 seed. It’s not like the NFL where the lowest remaining seed plays the top seed
  21. Brewers defeat the White Sox in 10 innings. Cubs will remain 2.5 GB
  22. Yes of course I'd prefer the division but there's really not *that* much difference to me assuming the Central winner is the 3rd seed. Yes the WC round is played at home which is a benefit, but HFA doesnt seem that big to me, especially in a place like Milwaukee which is close enough to draw plenty of Cubs fans and a familiar overall ballpark. Also the Cubs are something like 1-7 in their last 8 playoff games at Wrigley. Not that it has much to do with how this years team would do, but its not such a giant advantage that I'd say the WC spot excites me any less. Just make the playoffs and win as many games as you can.
