  1. Could be because hes not good, he overthrows receivers on the regular, he can't make adjustments after the ball is snapped. I will admit he hasnt been terrible today, just slightly below average. The weakness in the Bears offense today was getting behind early and not being able to establish the running game.
  2. God, I predicted Steelers 27-7 before the game, but its still not any easier to watch...Guess those Carolina and TB games were flukes. Overall I don't know if this team is even close to a playoff caliber team.
  3. I am by no means a scouting expert, but my understanding of Hill is that he had one great pitch (Curve), one decent pitch (Fastball) and the rest was junk. That kinda stuff will fool Minor league hitters, but in the majors, it was only a matter of time before he was partially figured out. Obviously this stuff can be improved upon with more seasoning, but I wouldn't put Hill in the untouchable realm yet. I'd rather have proven Tejada then unproven Hill on the team. I'm kinda on the fence on the issue of Hill's value, but I think that if the right player comes around, no unproven prospect is untouchable
  4. I wouldn't be suprised if we value Prior a lot more then fans/writers of other teams do
  5. Why so high on Milton? Guy has never played a complete season and only played over 100 game twice in his many years. Getting him would be a prototypical cubs pickup of getting some guy who is going to blow a ligament 2 weeks into the season. Maybe because in limited time he has shown the potential to put up good numbers and Hendry would be hoping to catch a stroke of luck and have MB put it together for relatively cheap. Of course, Hendry would be playing "Moneyball" with a large market team
  6. Just looking over at the site Deadspin. They have a running feature about run ins people have with athletes, and this one stood out to me. It is about the 1993 Cubs, and focuses on Sammy. The whole story (more added) can be found at: http://deadspin.com/sports/baseball/athlete-runin-sammy-sosa-way-back-when-141350.php
  7. That's not entirely true. Those guys Tinker, Evers & Chance were a bunch of jack rabbits !! 1908 Team stolen bases CUBS 212 Philadelphia 200 Cincinnati 196 Pittsburgh 186 New York 181 St. Louis 150 Boston 134 Brooklyn 113 LMAO
  8. Give them Iowa and West Tennessee for Cabs and Willis Edit: And I don't just mean the teams, I mean give them the state of Iowa and Western Tennessee (or just Jackson, TN)
  9. Whats funny is they gave teams like the Diamondbacks a C because they "havent done anything yet", which is exactly why its stupid to make an article grading teams on the offseason so far.
  10. I don't know if someone posted this, but he also said this in talking about the Braves offseason: Are you kidding me?
  11. Hendry should quit and be the GM of a small market team where holding onto prospects is essential
  12. Looks like they might retool and make the World Series before the Cubs.
  13. Damn, I knew the all you can eat buffet at the Winter Meetings was a bad thing. Hendry, get off your butt and do something.
  14. Are you taking me? Are you under the age of 3? Maybe I can get you in that way....;)
  15. Woo hoo! Just found out at about 11:30 tonight that I will be going (for free) to the game tomorrow. Go Bears!
  16. If the Cubs went after Nomar, it would be a disaster. Nomar has all the leverage there. It seems like every team in baseball has been interested in Nomar right now, plus the fact that the Cubs basically chose Furcal over Nomar and pushed him to the curve. To resign Nomar we'd have to pay him for at least a 3 year deal at $10 million per. You might think I'm crazy, but remember, the Cubs (if they went after Nomar) would need Nomar a lot more then Nomar needs the Cubs.
  17. So my wife saw me laughing at this thread, and wanted to know what Pierre looked like. I did a google image search, and I found this: http://www.heritagekonpa.com/images/Juan%20Pierre%20of%20Florida%20Marlin.jpg Funny that the picture was taken a few years ago, because he looks 10 years younger now without the stache
  18. Don't know if its been reported here yet, i heard an interview on the score about 20 minutes ago from the guy who wrote the LA Times piece. He seemed pretty sure of the deal and was talking as if it was complete...
  19. So it doesnt have anything to do with large pictures in people's signatures like we were speculating on the emergency nsbb board?
  20. 5/55 for Giles when the Cubs will probably throw 5/60 at an inferior player (who might help in more areas, but I believe he won't help more performance wise) Hendry is not my homeboy
  21. Who is going to play OF other then Pierre? 4/38? You are dreaming JH
