    No Murt at MMP? Didn't he go yard twice there last year? Is the pitcher a lefty or righty? If he is a righty, I have no idea why Jones wouldn't be hitting third while he is in a hotstreak. His doubles are useless when the pitcher can't drive him in. Oh wait, just realized that with Pierre and Womack leading off, the real lineup starts "Barrett, Walker, Ramirez, Jones" so he's hitting 4th, MAYBE 5th if you consider Womacks hot start.

    My prediction: St. Louis 92-70 Houston 84-78 Milwaukee 81-81 Cincinnati 77-85 Chicago 74-88 Pittsburgh 69-93 Record from today on: Houston 57-48 St. Louis 57-49 Milwaukee 55-50 Chicago 52-55 Pittsburgh 48-57 Cincinnati 45-61 Edit: Although I am reserving the possibility that the Astros make a big move around the trading deadline if they show any sign of life after Clemens joins the team and they are within striking distance of the WC or the division.

    That is why I love how well the "SI jinx" has preservered for so long. People forget to mention he was also on the SI Baseball Preview issue, just before he racked up the stats that put him on a record breaking pace. Well lets see, this week SI put the US Soccer team on the cover, with an little box about the Tigers in the corner. The Tigers had a less then stellar week, and the US is about to enter into one of the hardest groups for the World Cup. We'll see how that turns out. BTW, to my recollection, Jordan has still appeared on the most SI covers. His carrer didn't turn out too badly IIRC...

    Oh c'mon we're 22-33, in dire need of motivation to watch this team. The guy thinks he's Carlos Beltran, he said it himself. I want to see the self-fulfilled prophecy carried out in person. By the way I'm half kidding. But I think he would improve the bench if he can hit anywhere near what he did in the Spring

    Speaks good English??? Are you serious? Most people can't understand a word he says. He does pronounce the vulgarities surprisingly well, however. There's a difference between using good grammar and complete sentense structure and having an overwhelming accent that makes it difficult to understand English

    He never seems to get on base, but he doesn't K much. Before today he had 20 Ks in 228 ABs. I guess I've been trained to single out his K's because he supposedly never K's. He does have a higher rate then he did during the rest of his career.

    Dusty is right walks suck. We got 3 of them and they only gave us one run. If we had 3 hits, we'd have likely scored 2 or 3. (I'm kidding...seriously)

    Oof, thats when you know your team stinks, when your middle reliever is your lone all star. I don't know about you, but I'm not sure I'd want Barrett behind the plate catching to decide who gets HFA in the World Series

    Pujols is one of the classiest guys in baseball. I hate the Cards and I hate Pujols, but its tough to see one of the good guys go down. At least the Cards will know what we went though with Lee

    Anyone have any updates in Williamson? Looks like he pulled a Chad Fox at the end of the game. If he goes down, the way Aardsma has been pitching, he can fill in nicely in the 6th inning role.

    I know what your saying goes beyond injuries, but its not like they've been completely healthy with Edmonds, Rolen, Carpenter and others missing significant time over the past 2 seasons. Not as devistating as the Cubs but still. And as for having players fill in well, i guess they just have a better organization then the Cubs do.

    If thats true, half of our team needs to get sent to AAA so they can "come out swinging" and be rewarded for it. Oh wait they already do get rewarded for it.
