  1. Yup I agree. I hate every moment of it to a point that this news doesn't really bother me that much because I'm so bitter and just angry. Oh well, another long summer to enjoy without the Cubs. Good luck filling the seats at Wrigley this year Cubbies. I'll be going to a lot of Fire games. GREAT call. I really enjoyed the 3 games I attended this year.

  3. I think that we should just drop this whole 'trying to win' crap and go a different route. We have a long tradition of losing, and as such we should embrace this and be proud of our losing history. Think about it...there are 29 other teams competing to win, a pretty saturated market there. We'd be the only team competing to lose, we would create our own niche. We'd be one of a kind. We should seriously consider this.
  4. Bye bye Rammy and 2007 season. Hello finding another team to keep me occupied for the summer
  5. I'm wondering if the lack of Manningham use in this Michigan was a ploy to make the Buckeyes wonder how healthy he really is.
  6. I mostly agree. Just shut up and do what needs to be done to win the World Series. You stupid bums
  7. I'd rather have the everyday player than the pitcher who will only impact 30 games anyway. In those 30 games, he has a very significant impact on allowing the team to win if they simply score their normal RPG. Ramirez has a big impact on said RPG. :D I'd like to have both, though. Has anyone done studies on which is more important, a middle of the order bat or a number 1 starter? I'm sure there has been...

  9. This "possibly losing Ramirez" thing was just a ploy to not upset fans for losing the Matsuzaka bidding.
  10. I'm not mad that Ramirez is leaving. I expected it all along. The rule of the Cubs since 2005 is what can go wrong will go wrong
  11. i don't think he's going to provide that big of a boost, personally. While that is a convinving argument, I look at the fact that he had a 906 OPS in April last year (before he got hurt), 891 OPS the year before, and 927 OPS the year before that. Yes but HGH-aided Bonds aside, players generally tend to decline after their early to mid-30's.
  12. He's gonna be 39, hes a past steroid user and he's had injury problems. Good luck Detroit
  13. Cool, now that that's over with, lets go back to not resigning Aramis Ramirez
  14. That would be funny if the Cubs made their typical "no chance to win, but at least we tried" offer and then ended up winning.
  15. The Bulls were exposed tonight. Ben Wallace is a waste for this team because we didn't need him. We look the same as we did last year against the Cavs. We are supposed to be an uptempo team, but other uptempo teams kill us. I don't get it, but I know that we will be in the 40-45 win range when the season is over
  16. Oh for those who don't want to search for the old Brewers logo: http://www.ssur.org/articles/images/MilwaukeeBrewers_01.jpg
  17. The Rangers no longer use the red and white scheme. Blue is their primary color now. Nationals
  18. Link. Have fun in Anaheim Aramis. Edit: Anyone want to buy a #16 jersey?
  19. Before this gets any further, I posted about the ESPN 1000 thing to show that this rumor is likely fabricated. Its just fishy that the first rumor (to Cubs fans) was heard on a NY station, then the second rumor (to Yankees fans) was heard on a Chicago station
  20. The early picks are all Giants from the online gurus. Damn it actually feels good to be under respected again.
  21. I think Ohio State will win only because I have a hard time seeing Michigan scoring a decent amount of points. It will be very much a defensive game though it looks like, and when it becomes that type of game where 1 play could change the game anybody could win. Ohio State will win because its in Columbus ...but I hope not
  22. For the record, I went back to NYYFans and they were told that there is a rumor that the Cubs won the bidding..... .....but that rumor was 'reported' on ESPN 1000 :)
