Some numbers to look at. The Cubs have 15 games left, the Brewers 16. If the Cubs go 6-9, the Brewers have to go 8-8 to tie us. (82-80) If the Cubs go 7-8, the Brewers have to go 9-7 to tie us. (83-79) If the Cubs go 8-7, the Brewers have to go 10-6 to tie us. (84-78) If the Cubs go 9-6, the Brewers have to go 11-5 to tie us. (85-77) If the Cubs go 10-5, the Brewers have to go 12-4 to tie us. (86-76) If the Cubs go 11-4, the Brewers have to go 13-3 to tie us. (87-75) -

Interesting....here is Wainwright's numbers against the Cubs this season: 4/22 - 5.1 IP 7 ER 4/28 - 4.1 IP 6 ER 7/25 - 5.0 IP 6 ER Total - 0-2 11.66 ERA We've rocked him around. Here are the starts where he has give up the most ER: 8 - LAD 7 - CHC 6 - CHC 6 - CHC 5 - CIN 4 - KC 4 - PIT 3 - WAS Every one of his other 20 starts he has allowed 2 ER or fewer. So 3 of his 4 worst performances, and 3 of his 7 bad starts this year have come against the Cubs. Wainwrights current numbers: 13-10 3.75 ERA Wainwrights numbers if you took out his starts against the Cubs: 13-8 3.03 ERA I am beginning to take a different look at this matchup.
