    There wasn't a hold or a tackle. Fred Miller got his arm around the defender like it was going to be a hold, but he never got a grip. And while Miller did spin him a bit, the defender never went down to the ground. If he had, there likely would have been a flag thrown. lol..just re-watched it myself...it wasn't even remotely close to a hold. How do you explain this quote in the Trib:

    We swept them in Wrigley when we were red hot and they were streaky. I think they were in the middle of a long losing streak when we played them. One of the games was the game where we were up 7-2 in the 9th and they scored 6 runs and then we score 2. Either way, nice sweep. In Coors, although we took the first 2 games, we were in the middle of a bad stretch of baseball, and I never really thought we were outplaying them all that much. Eventually the Rockies came back and took the next 2 in convincing fashion. One was a Rich Hill blowup, and the other was a solid 9 inning victory. Either way, I have no doubt that we'd get blown out in 4-5 games if we played them right now.

    Tim Wakefield is on, now can everyone shut up about starting Beckett tonight. Everyone assumed that they would lose if they pitched Wake (which they surely still can), but no one talked about how much of a boost it would be if Wake won (against their 4th starter) and they had Josh Beckett pitch on full rest in game 4 with the series tied at 2

    What innocence? Everyone in the media already declared him guilty without trial. He could not appear on this list, and they'll just say it's proof that there are more names out there. Nobody will be satisfied that steroid testing is working until their own personal target is caught. Very true. And, it's just more to the point that it's silly to call a player out for doing something which was obviously so widespread and unenforced. I don't think it's necessarily all that important for someone to acknowledge that Sammy Sosa probably took steroids/PED's, but I do, and I'll tell you what, It doesn't minimize his on-field accomplishments in any way. I couldn't care less. It is what it is. It'd be like hating on some deadball-era pitcher for accumulating all those wins in a single-season. But its not the pitcher that chose to pitch in the deadball-era. If these players too steroids, it is because they knowingly took an illegal drug in order to boost their performance above all previous players in history that did not take steroids.

    Stupid parity, I hate it.....nobody wants to see South Florida in the national championship game. It's bad for college football due to lack or ratings for BCS games. Why not? I know its not Ohio State, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, USC, but thats kinda exciting. It's not like USF wouldn't have earned it. The Big East isn't the SEC but its not the WAC either. If no one watches it, who cares? Just because no one is watching Arizona/Colorado doesn't mean its not compelling baseball.

    I see the FA market going down a bit this season. Teams like the Red Sox and Yankees are concentrating more on building their teams via the minor leagues with less emphasis on FA signings. Look at some of the names that have been brought up by just these teams alone, Bucholtz, Papelbon, Lester, Hughes, Chamberlain, Hanley Ramirez (traded to the Marlins at maturity). There are more on the way.

    That would be really depressing if that happens I want this to happen. I've learned to hate the D'backs. Is it because we are 30-49 against them all time and 23-44 against them since 1999?
