  1. Between my 2 friends and I we got 13 tickets. 9 for game 1 and 4 for game 2 WOW
  2. Man, that will be one fun weekend. Shh! One step at a time. As much fun as all that sounds, it is just as likely the the Cubs get shut down today by Gorzelanny while the Brewers light up Reyes then win tomorrow against the Pujols-less Cardinals. Now it is 1 game up with 6 to play and not so much of a sure thing. Cubs really need to complete the sweep today to keep the pressure on. I feel comfortable with the Wainwright vs. Bush matchup on Monday
  3. He's on vacation and away from a computer so he asked for a spot starter. If Cubs lose, we know who to blame. Blame Derwood :)
  4. This is it. The last home game of the season. Last chance to see the home white pinstripes in the regular season. After this, we will have to earn our playoff spot on the road. After starting the season horribly, then straightening out for a couple of months, followed by another terrible stretch, Z has started going erratic mixing in bad performances with good ones. I honestly have no idea what to expect out of Z tomorrow. On the other hand, Gorzelanny has been one of the best left handed pitchers in the NL. The last 2 games notwithstanding, we suck against lefties. The matchup is in their favor, but destiny is in ours. The Cubs will attempt to increase their lead in the NL Central tomorrow. Go Cubs!
  5. That's so funny, I was totally the one that created that, BF.net stole it, and now its been stolen back :)
  6. Geez, this is actually scaring me. All freaking year we wait for the Cubs to hit HRs. We had a stretch where we didnt hit a HR in 8 straight games. I guess we were saving them all for September??
  7. The ump looks like Soda Popinski throwing a left hook when he rings up a batter.
  8. This has 2 inning relief appearence for Marmol written all over it
  9. Pretty critical of Rich Hill earlier, but he has looked completely different the last 2 innings. Pitches are locating better and look sharper
  10. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I want Zach Duke to stay in!
  11. Damn I thought Hill had a hit there.
  12. RBI is not meaningless. When it comes to evaluating an individual player's performance, yes, it pretty much is. So if there was a player the Cubs acquired who had 125 RBI last season, you wouldn't think that would be meanginful? No but Craig Monroe had 92 RBI and Alfonso Soriano had 95 RBI last year. Pretty close numbers until you realize that Monroe batted largely 5th for a powerful offense when Soriano hit leadoff for a weak offense
  13. Including today, Rich Hills ERA in his last 5 starts is 6.62
  14. Cubs starting pitchers crapping the bed down the stretch. Hill has been awful in his last 3-4 starts, Z we all know about and Marquis last start was terrible, albeit more understandable with the conditions
  15. Yeah Brewer fans, the Cubs get all the bloop hits and lucky breaks
  16. How do you guys feel about Rich Hill this year? -Better than you expected? -Worse? -About the same? Also how much has your opinion on Rich Hill's long term ability changed this season?
  17. Yay, Brewers had a runner on third with 2 outs but Gwynn grounds out
  18. This is still a Bears football score Bears 13 Steelers 7 Bears score on 2 FGs and an INT returned for a TD. Pittsburgh picks off Grossman for 7 for their only score.
  19. I bet Marmol pitches the 7th and 8th now. It's weird because he has become like a 2 inning guy. Really weird to have him coming in for a 5 run lead. But I am not complaining.
